Smith is a great kid, and was an outstanding player at Notre Dame. I hope that his leg fully recovers, because he can be a truly special player if he has the same movement skills he had before the injury. Nothing better than seeing a dream come true for a young man, especially one who probably saw his career flash before his eyes.

Based on what I have heard read and know of this kids heart, he will play again. Even if he only plays five years, you are going to see all out, sell the house, leave it all on the field.You know what, after some of the heartless, gutless windbags we have had here recently, I would take that for one year!

I was down on this pick, but I can't be now. Jaylon Smith is the best player in this draft. He is an all-world athlete and incredible conditioning and ability. He will be back and he will make plays for this defense. I am completely on board.

The Cowboys know his medical condition better than anyone else. It was their medical people that did the surgery. If the doctor didn't feel he could get back to where he was before the injury, they would not have picked him. Will he play this year? probably not. Does anyone here think we're winning the SB this year? Let him sit and study if he has to. We have some people to build this team around for a while. I'm more concerned about Romo's health going forward than anything else. Keep building for the future. This is not a "win now" team, no matter what Jerry thinks.....

That old Jerry Jones guy has a soft side we see sometimes,,,like last year with the Collins signing and him bonding with his mother over a meal.
