Why not implement a package for Dak?

I mean, I'm all in favor of a quarterback who can run successfully. I have my doubts that Prescott can.

The best running qbs in the league are 4.7 or under. Prescott ran nearly a 4.8. Even with Cook. Again, is any one in Oakland today calling for Connor Cook running packages?

He can run 2-3 yards just fine

If Dallas needs him to convert short yardage, not sure that's a good sign for the RB they just took.

Just an added dimension..zeke can still get the ball too..just a matter of utilizing the players they have

Rather spend the time teaching him to be the future QB. Figure he's gonna have his hands full with that

I am not sure why there is so much hate for DP. The Cowboys took him with a comp pick in the 4th for God's sake. You will be hard pressed to find many experts that have a problem with where they picked him. There are plenty of experts that think the kid has upside if given the proper time to learn how to be an NFL QB, which I believe has been the Cowboys plan all along.

I was dead against the pick with our first 4, but was ok with taking him with the 5th.

You also reduce a dimension in this scenario too. I'm fine with this if you see something you can exploit in a certain team, but shouldn't be a regular package. Comparing Dak to Cam is a waste of energy at this point.

Why can't this team take a player like Dak and just use him right away for things that he's good for?

Put a short yardage package and maybe even goal line package together that he can thrive in...zone reads w this line and with zeke blocking or even rushing...that would be using the players talents to their abilities

Cam in short yardage situations has like a 100% success rate..I bet Dak could do the same..

I don't even like Dak as a future qb prospect...but this guy definitely can bring something to the table...it's a bit depressing to know that none of this will happen...seems like such an easy and successful plan...yet for some dumb reason, it's also never going to happen

Few reasons why they shouldn't. You don't take your franchise QB off the field in key situations. And you also don't give up a spot on the 45 for the third string QB.

Don't worry he'll be playing soon enough whether he's ready or not

Unfortunately, this is probably true. Zeke better be all that in blocking. Or its going to be another very, very long season.

Why not have our new RB do that?

Defaulting to a goalline package where your lineman are always out numbered is the best way to stop getting stuffed. This staff just doesn't like changing that approach tho
