OK.

I disagree. I'm tired of this franchise's fate being tied to a quarterback who can't stay healthy. I don't mean that to sound cold, unfeeling, or unsympathetic, but this organization needs to start doing what they need to in order to ensure their future.
I get it.

At any rate, Dak is about to some trial by fire seasoning and experience. That is the good that comes out of this. And I say that as someone is is sick for Romo that this happened.

NFL needs to look closely at how they officiate Romo. Defenses know that they can treat him like a rag doll with no consequence.

You can't blame this on the NFL.

Even if they called many more penalties for hits on Romo, he's still getting hit like that in that game.

We know the team was expecting this eventuality (although probably not this soon), because one of the stated reasons for drafting Elliott was that his presence would help the backup QB.

If we had a crystal ball Wentz would have been the better target but in terms of what we knew the Zeke pick is genius

Let's be logical here. Dak has a better arm, is stronger, can actually use his legs and run if nobody is open etc. Also, he has an elite Oline, elite WR, elite RB, and elite TE. Dak is going to succeed here. This could be a blessing in disgusie.

I think he'll be very productive given his talent and the level of offensive talent around him. But there will be mistakes. His season will be defined by how he works through those mistakes.

I am too. I feel terrible for Romo. He's a great guy and has done so much for this team. It's terrible how these things keep happening to him.

Should they owe him tens of millions if he's incapable of holding up his end of that contract?

They should owe him whatever the two sides agreed to when they made the deal knowing full well that this was a possible outcome. It's not going to be tens of millions. The only thing he's owed is his base salary and you don't get a base salary if you aren't on the roster.

He will retire because of two things, first of all family and second of all, he is a very good golfer and does not want to get his back so bad he cannot play. He could eventually play on the Senior Tour, but at the very least he wants to still be able to still play his second favorite game, golf.

Are there decent QB2-3s out there just waiting for a phone call?

This guy is done, and will never be the same. Now lets find another QB quickly for backup to Dak.

Can't imagine these lingering back issues not affecting his golf game as well. Just look at Tiger Woods.

Does Romo even get his job back if Dak gets off to a solid start? This Bledsoe-Romo all over again
