The idea would be to sweat and hydrate and flush out your system. I suppose if you really dug in it may work.

I don't think that works anymore, nor flushing out with a ton of water etc.... They reject those samples nowadays that are practically drinkable.

I don't know what the hell passes for weed in your neck of the woods, but it 50 years on both coasts, I have never met anyone with purple lips outside of frostbite. I know several heavy smokers, and you would never know by their looks.

I have to often remind people of this, and I'll do so in your case. Your sum total of experience or lack of experience doesn't define what is truth for others. It simply means you may not be as exposed as someone else.

Yes, many people who smoke develop "purple lips." I have observe this phenomenon based on relatives who I've witness smoke develop purple lips. I'm not saying this happens to ALL people who smoke, but it does to some - if not many.

You can attest to what you've witnessed and observed. I attest to those things I've witnessed and observed.

Prohibition TOOK something that was legal and made it illegal.......it also cost the economy and govt millions and made the Mob more powerful than the Police

Marijuana is still illegal because most people still use it to get high **.......all the medicinal reasons and uses for hemp are just part of lobbying effort to get it mainstream and legalized.....and alcohol still can't be abused in public or used in a car or several other restrictions but you can have a drink or two and not be drunk.......apples and oranges imo

It may be apple and oranges the way you shape the argument, but not the way I shaped the argument.

Again, my point is it doesn't matter whether it's illegal or not, consequences exist, and they will be transferred from one criminality to another criminality regardless whether it's legal or not.

Now, I agree with you that a person can drink and not get drunk. But that's not the comparison I'm making. Unfortunately, when we allow certain activities in society, there is a progression to these actions. Nothing really stays the same. It evolves and takes on consequences of its own - which is why there was/is a prohibition to begin with.

And remember, you must understand the context of an analogy before you dismiss it. You can't merely create your own analogy and then cry "apple and orange" comparison.

The point of my analogy is consequences. The point of your analogy was the difference in the agents themselves. I don't disagree with your analogy. It's just not one I was making. :)

You seem hung up on this. What makes you think the league needs proof?

Because it has policy that governs and outlines what constitutes a violation. If the league could issue a violation for any and everything, why have policy?

You don't need policy if you're going to make things up outside the boundaries of that policy.

Does Zeke have purple lips?
I can't believe I just spent time googling Zeke lips and they don't look purple at all.

Marijuana is still illegal because law enforcement and industrial lobbies want it that way. Marijuana is being legalized/medicalized in 25 states and counting because people use it and know that the 'reefer madness' and similar supposed effects are lies. Now that Colorado didn't descend into a zombie wasteland the process is accelerating.

Yes I understand that but does the NFL not do random test? If they do none of the players get a 6 week warning.

If they dont its pathetic players still manage to fail.
It does sound odd now tbh. Why would calls be needed if they were already in the program. Huh, maybe I gotta do a little google hw tbh. I admired him for his strong stance after he retired and leading the NORML org but never really questioned that aspect. I also like that he's articulate so football players can show the world they don't all die @ 50. Good look though, I'll look into that more closely so won't repeat if wrong, etc.

That's nice in theory, but the policy is subjective and based upon a committee's interpretation of vague language. And, in case you haven't noticed, the league punishments have not been consistent nor uniform.

I smoked a ton of weed as a teen and have no problems with the push for legalization of it. What I don't get are adult potheads that are chronically (no pun intended) stoned. I don't look at them any different than I would a drunkard that's constantly wasted all the time. It's a bad look. I get using it recreationally as I do drinking socially. But to be stoned from sun up to sun down is lame.

The drunkard comparison is a good one.

I agree with legalization, but some people think it means being socially acceptable to smoke up all day, every day.

1) How are his texts getting to the media? Isn't that an invansion of privacy of some form?

2) I am surprised some people are so hard on this kid. Yes, I understand the situation (that he is now a professional athlete) but people also forget that he is still a young kid. I know I made my fair share of "great" decisions when I was a young man. Hell, I still question myself in my 30s sometimes. haha He will be fine everybody, let him enjoy his youth a minute.

Live and learn folks!

The NFL did up their levels for a positive test after Josh Gordon argued he failed because of a contact buzz or second hand smoke.........the lower limit used to be 15 nanograms of THC or parts per billion but now it is 35 ngs......Gordon's A sample was 16ngs so they took a B sample and it was 13.6ngs, the B sample only has to show any level to confirm the A sample.....but if the B sample had been tested first it would have been below the limit and another sample wouldn't be needed

Ricky Williams said if the limit was 35ngs he never would have failed a test..........by comparison MLB uses 50ngs and the Olympics uses 150ngs.....the NBA keeps it limits confidential but the punishments are a lot weaker for marijuana- a third failed test is 5 games(out of 82)

If you fail a test in the NFL there is no punishment but you enter the Drug Program......they can test anytime or place they want for 90 days......if you stay clean you leave the Program and go back to zero.....if you fail again while in the program is when the fines and suspensions start....

Probibition of marijuana TOOK something else that was legal and made it illegal. everything you said about alcohol applies to cannibis. "Most" people use marinuana to get high. All people use alcohol to get drunk.
