I am glad the investing the time with Gathers. Now is the time for us fans to forget about him and hope he comes back a different player after a year on an NFL team. He has always been a long shot but there are very few guys his size and with his skillset/athleticism roaming the earth. He is the perfect practice squad player.

It's confusion IMO. They want the two tight end set and then they didn't. Escobar was suppose to be the heir apparent to Witten and he can't block like they want.

I don't think it is confusion at all. Like I have said in different threads.....Romo will decide when Romo is done. And Witten will decide when Witten is done.

Elite QBs I can understand...they don't share snaps. But Witten should have had his snaps reduced YEARS ago. Witten plays more plays than almost any player in the NFL....regardless of position!

I'm probably one of the biggest critics of this Front Office and GM Jerry, which I know is saying a lot here, but I love this move. I think Gathers is worth the minimal risk; hope like hell he becomes a weapon for us.
