i would agree with this.
If Emmitt has anyone to worry about it catching his record, it might be Zeke. Zeke has the speed that Emmitt never did and he's running behind a similarly nasty Oline opening up holes. Emmitt (probably my all time favorite player) got caught from behind a lot. Zeke will never get caught from behind, those 40 yard runs Emmitt had will be 60 or 70 for Zeke and end in TDs. He's everything I thought he'd be for us....other teams should be terrified.
mark it down in 3 inch headlines, Prescott and Elliott will bring a Lombardi to Dallas......maybe several
great to see the birth of a new era...like watching Emmitt, Troy, and Irving coming of age early on.....
gonna be beautiful, get your popcorn and size your ring fingers

I'd refresh my memory of what Emmitt looked like early on. There is no one to compare. He's in a different class like Sanders and Sayers. Just no one to compare those guys to. JMO.

That's not to say he isn't elite. I was wrong about the guy. I thought he was very good or even better. Well, he's the latter. But he ain't Emmitt Smith. But he may be Zeke and just in another class of great backs.

We'll see.

Saw a play, in the 4th quarter, where he showed it all... He show speed to bounce it to outside right, then showed power to go through tackles and then downed himself and did not going out of bounds. They talk about how good of blitz pick up guy he is, and also, great receiver.. In short, he does it all..

So, best RB since Adrian Peterson? Actually, heard it reported a scout said that...

As physical as Zeke is, not sure he'll last long enough to catch Emmitt. It's going to take a lot of productive seasons to catch him. Maybe Zeke will be able to survive all the punishment he dishes out and manage to stay around long enough. It's going to be fun watching.

Zeke is only 21. His close to a 1750 yard year just this year alone. If he has many years like this - and the longevity of Emmitt, he just might.

There were some poor misguided fools before the draft calling him the next Trent Richardson.
I knew all along how special he was going to be. Doesn't suprise me one bit.

Zeke is good enough to be leading the NFL in rushing.

He's also able to block and catch extremely well.
That's about as good as good gets.

Besides, he'll only get better!

Gun to my head, I'd go:

1. LeVeon Bell
2. Zeke
3. Lesean McCoy
4. Todd Gurley
5. David Johnson
6. Demarco Murray
7. Lamar Miller
8. Eddie Lacy
9. Doug Martin
10. Mark Ingram

Man, what a sad list. So much for the days of Emmitt, Barry, Marshall Faulk, Thurman Thomas, Jerome Bettis, Tomlinson, Eddie George, Curtis Martin, Terrell Davis, etc.

People talking about his running ability, I think it's great not special. He is not elite in the open field. No elite speed or cutting ability. He's merely very good in those areas. You put the blocking and hopefully catching when he gets more opportunities, that maybe pushes him into that elite class. Purely as a runner though, I don't think he's special. Just very very good.

Just strange how things play out. There were a lot of peeps here on the 'trade up to get that rare franchise qb', some were going to commit suicide if we passed on a lock down corner with Norman fever still running through their veins, others wanted to trade back to grab that rock in the center of the DL, some peeps wanted to grab our defensive QB ala Singletary and then there were those guys who were adamant that RB's are a dime a dozen and our franchise workhorse could be nabbed in the 5th.

Well...it's still very early but it looks like everyone got their wish albeit not in the order they were hoping for. God doesn't hate us peeps. LOL

Wait till next year and it will look a whole lot better.

Through 6 weeks, hes the league MVP. I dont understand why the question needs to be asked unless you havent been watching the games.

Emmitt had longevity. It remains to be seen if Zeke can match it along with his other gifts.
THIS. Putting up the kind of career numbers like Emmitt requires a good deal of luck. Emmitt never had any kind of long term injury his entire career. Adrian PEterson is a perfect example - great back, easily as talented as Emmitt, but ultimately, injuries are going to prevent him from reaching the kind of career numbers that Emmitt put up. It remains to be seen if Zeke can remain injury free and not wear down over time.

5-1, I'm guessing.

Not that Zeke isn't great, but Morris is adequate, and our last 3 games haven't been particularly close. Washington was closer, but Zeke fumbled twice in that one, so we certainly didn't win because of him.

So we won because of Dak either this week because he had 2 fumbles and a pick. Let's trade Dak and play Romo because Dak is only adequate.

Lmao there are 10-12 running backs better than Zeke? Please name them. It's between him and Leveon. DJ might get a shout. But 12 players really? Don't come here with that
Who said that?
I sure didn't
Maybe you should re-read my post before you attack like that.

I did not say one single player in the entire league was better than Zeke, let alone 10-12.
I said that behind our line and in our offense a ton of players could maybe lead the league in rushing. That does not at ALL say they are better than Zeke or they'd be putting up these same numbers.
If you will recall, even old man McFadden was 4th in the league in rushing last year. And that was only in 11 games.
He's probably the 40-50th best back...if that.

Pump the brakes. He's great, sure, but already talking about the all-time rushing record? With the punishment RBs take, he's lucky to have a great eight year career. More and more teams are going to a committee, and the full-time bell cow RB is a thing of the past. He'll be great for the time that he's here, but his body will break down and he'll fall off a cliff like all great RBs do.

So true and also no nagging injuries to the lower body. Emmitt never had a bad knee or ankle injury.
Exactly and that's very hard to go 10 years without a serious injury. Pretty amazing how durable emmitt was

Then it comes to if the Cowboys would want to re-sign him to a top RB contract the way he is running/amount of carries he may get in the next 4-5 years. Sure, he'll be young, but if he has a couple years near Murray's workload...

We got a long time to go before Zeke and career rushing records should come into play.

Zeke is a freak, but not too many guys can withstand the punishment RB's take every carry. Got to get lucky with injuries as well.
