Dallas trade Romo to Denver for their RD1 pick

RD1(DEN)
Desmond King CB Iowa
This kid is the exact same type of guy that Scandrick is. I think he will drop because of his height. Could even be shorter than 5-10. But he can get it done.

RD1
Takkarist McKinley DE UCLA
Extremely fast off the snap. Perfect RDE for Marinellis syste. Would allow Lawrence to go back to his best spot at LDE.

RD2
Travis Rudolph WR Florida State
Guy can attack downfield and attack the intermediate. I think Butler will be next yrs replacement for TW at the start of the yr, but i could see Rudolph making a push as the yr goes on.

RD3
Jordan Thomas CB Oklahoma
Tall CB who can plan press or zone.

RD4
Kelunta Davis DE Chattanooga
Dallas needs better talent on the edge. Mckinley and Davis would be huge additions for this DL

Hate to be a wet blanket, but you're dreaming if you think Romo will fetch a 1st. The Vikings already burned theirs and I don't think anyone else is stupid enough to make that trade.
Denver is right there though. They have a top D, a very good K, and some playmakers on O. Give them a top QB and that could put them back into the SB. Plus, it will most likely be a late first round pick anyway....so I can see them doing this.

If I did acquire that pick, I would try to swing a trade back and try to get a 2nd and 3rd for their pick.

That would give us 5 picks in the top 64. We could get a pass rushing DE, a LB, a WR, a DB, and maybe another DE or DB

I'd be ecstatic if they did, and John Elway has the credibility to weather the storm he'd face from fans/media afterward. I just don't see it happening unless the Cowboys sent something back in addition to Romo like another pick.

We'll be lucky if we get a 3 for Romo.

It's not like there's going to be a bidding war because we will try to orchestrate a trade where Romo wants to go and we'll want to limit it to AFC.

Could be that I am not privy to the value of oft-injured older QBs, but I don't see a straight-up #1 for Romo. I was thinking a second in 2017 and a conditional in 2018 depending on health. If they get a #1 then I will give full credit to Jerry Jones and then verbally berate myself in the mirror to make up for having questioned you.

Nice picks though! A Right Tackle would be nice, but that would be a pretty decent haul.

Romos value is gonna start to rise as we approach the off-season and Denver will most likely have a late 1st rd pick. I don't think it's unrealistic to expect that for a QB nearly 1 year removed from his last injury and who didn't play a down in the '16 regular season.

He instantly upgrades your entire offense and brings a veteran presence along with a strong desire to win and prove what he's capable of. If you're a team looking to win now and you need elite QB play, romo buys you a 2-3 year window.

Only thing I'd change is I'd want to package my 1st rd picks to move up and target a stud DE
