Good Failsafe Chili recipe

1 and a half pound of ground HB meat
Full onion finely chopped
One full poblano pepper finely chopped

Cook all three until fully cooked. Drain and rinse with hot water. Add it back to the pan

Add
2.... 8 oz cans of tomato sauce
can of Rotell
Can of red beans
can of fire roasted tomatoes
tablespoon of chili powder
tablespoon of cumin
teaspoon of smoked paprika ( I use a tablespoon)
Get some garlic in there someway-- somehow
Salt if needed

I use Jalapeno powder (that can be found in the Mexican section) to add the heat maybe 1/2 a teaspoon. Cayenne can be substituted. Most recipes use too much chili powder so feel free to cut back on the tablespoon of chili powder. Trust me, this will turn out good if you are reasonably close. Not rocket science

Simmer for an hour or two on low heat.

Add cornbread (this is important)

8 serranos for one can of tomatoes? You're crazy. I like you, but you're crazy!

They taste like eggs? Am I better off making gamish corn hens?
Not sure exactly what you are asking.

Eggs harvested from free range chickens off the farm actually do taste better than store bought eggs, but unless you know someone that can provide them, then just go with eggs taste like eggs. As far as corn hens, I have never been able to not overcook them. I would go with a full hen cooked with a full onion stuffed inside and basted with orange juice and seasoning, baked in the oven at 375 for a an hour or so..Google it not sure on time and temp.

If you can pick up one already cooked from Wal mart, Sam's, or Costco then I would recommend that route. I don't particularly like chicken so my opinion is not worth much.

Except I do like eggs.

We are in the middle of an ice storm.

So I'm making homemade chili and Frito chili pie.

I don't want to get out on the road so I'll have to go with what's in the fridge.. Guinness.

Grilled shrimp, grilled bell peppers, grilled chicken breast, avocado, all seasoned of course, toast Naan with a little olive oil and garlic.

Forget about it...
Seems like a mixing of cultures, but you can always tell if everything going in is good, than more than likely it is good.
