I hate this but the off-season has begun. What realistic FA moves do you think we make

Obviously D-line. I think it'll easier to find a DT than a DE. I like Collins. I think we should get a dominant DT to pair with Collins. That should also help our DEs. We also need a RDE. I was hoping it would be Gregory but that ship has sailed. We'll see about Lawrence.

Need another big body at DT . Brandon Williams from Ravens is avaliable or Poe from the Chiefs .

I like Poe. Imagine a starting DT duo of 310 pound Collins at 3DT and 345 pound Poe at 1DT. Both guys are extremely athletic for their size and can rush the passer. Put some big boys on the inside and some quick guys on the outside. But Marinelli will never do that because he covets a certain type of D-linemen who usually comes in the form of a Nick Hayden or a George Selvie.

I love the idea of that!

We need a solid DE that can get pressure is 1st priority. Last night was a prime example of how not getting pressure is bad.

2nd is CB and LB. 3rd is anyone that can improve any position.

if we can get Poe, no matter what happens the rest of the offseason is a bonus. I want to keep Mo here, I want Ron Leary here, we have to find a way to keep Irving, we are a good team and we are young and hungry to prove ourselves. If we can pull all that off and have a solid draft, maybe we can win a playoff game...forgot to mention Jaylon Smith. I'm getting sick of waiting for next year, but it seems to be the only option, I'm not going to quit on the only team I ever loved.

Well, curious to see what we do with our own FA. Leary and McClain(DT) are the two big ones to watch.

Outside of that, do we continue our ways of being thrift shoppers or do we go back to giving middle to high contracts to free agents?

Go hard after Dontari Poe.

He's one guy that will actually be worth it, IMO, and fills an area of need.

It'll free up Maliek Collins to be an awesome 3T and give whatever rookie DEs you pick up better chances on the edges.

Stephen Jones already said they're not gonna be big spenders in free agency. So I think we'll see more of the bargain shopping and bringing guys in just to see them sign elsewhere.
I'm still upset they didn't get the Eric Weddle deal done.

I'm agreeing we may not see any big deals.

However, like you said we were after Weddle, who got a decent sized deal. So, while I doubt we'll be rebidding on guys, wouldn't shock me if we go after some mid level guys(contracts) and see if we can sign them without a bidding war

I hate spending big dollars, but they may want to pursue JPP. The Defensive Ends are a pretty severe weakness and DE also appears a spot that their draft team does not have a keen eye for.

We need a major signing at defensive end in free agency and JPP would be the guy for me. He's shown he can still play at a high level even the the finger injury. Another guy I would look at if you wanted to go cheap is Connor Barwin.
The Cowboys have 3 defensive ends on the roster now that you really don't know if you can count on having next season. Gregory, Tapper and Lawrence all have issues.

D line number 1. Corner number 2, replace Witten number 3 if he retires. I think we are in pretty good shape on the offensive side of the ball other then having a Tight End who can stretch the field. A late round burner would be nice to mix into the equation.
