What happened to Teez Tabor? Wasnt he projected to be a first rounder?
Ran a 4.69 (or something like that) at the Combine. Has Fruity Peebles for brains, if reports are to be believed. He's a third round pick.
I don't think the Eagles go for a corner (which is a very deep position in this draft) with Corey Davis and John Ross still on the board. I can almost guarantee they don't. Ross is their pick if there's not a DeSean Jackson reunion prior to the draft. Book it.
If the draft plays out this way, I expect the Cowboys to trade down and acquire more picks in a deep draft. I think some teams will be wanting to move back up to get Mahomes.
If we don't trade down, the pick will be
David Njoku. This draft is deep in pass rushers so no need to panic and grab one at #28, particularly if there's nothing really separating the remaining edge rushers. Same for corner, although a case could be made for
Budda Baker.
So what's the best way to fix the pass rush and defense without getting a pass rusher? With a more dynamic offense. Assuming Dak's continued progression, a speedy deep threat like Ross (he's not available) or a route-running elusive tight end like Njoku (I prefer Howard but he's not available) would give offensive coordinators nightmares. Who are you going to focus on? Dak (and his ability to run the read option), Zeke, Dez, Witten (for double tight end sets) or Njoku? And you add a dominating offensive line too?
I honestly believe this is the scenario Dallas is considering strongly if its player isn't available at #28. And then even in a trade down, Engram is a backup option if Njoku isn't there. I just don't see Butts, Sprinkle or the other tight ends being the receiving threats Howard, Njoku and Engram would be.
That's my two cents.
