The best thing the Angles could do for themselves and their fan base this year? Gut the team. Trade everyone they can except Trout and the guys they can't trade. Take a ton of losses, get high draft picks come next year and start over.
We just drafted a couple studs on Monday, Jo Adell (projects to LF or RF), and Griffin Canning (projects to a middle of the rotation starter).

The problem with your scenario is that most of our tradable assets are injured and we'd be selling low. Maybe Calhoun would get us some prospects, but the rest of our team is very meh.

It seems the Orioles lack of starting pitching has come to a head... They're a mess.

To a lesser degree the Yankees are suffering a similar fate.

Trouble is the value of most of those guys is...

not much but just getting them off the roster to clear a spot for the young guys. Need to get Rosarios feet wet, need to see what Domonic Smith can do-the status quo is draining. Of course managment thinks they are going to make a run. Aint going to happen.

Its been brutal. Unbearable. Unwatchable.

Even Bundy has tanked. Its like the suckage is contagious.

OK, so what do you think they do about it? Anything this year?

Do they sell off some of their offense in order to pick up a #3 starter from someone?

Mike, you gonna watch this Yanks/Halos series, since it's East Coast?

We just got handled by the rotten Royals. Gosh, I hate them. Especially Hosmer. Their fans, too. We blew that series.

Yeah, since it doesn't start at 10:00PM I'll catch some of it.

Duquette hasnt been a seller since he's been with the Orioles. But they've had the best record in the AL since 2012 so one wouldnt expect any selling.

If they are still in the chase even for the WC I dont see them selling.

Even if they decided to have a fire sale and stock up for a rebuild who do they sell? Manny? He's hitting .216. Prob low value even tho he's one of the top young talents in the game. 14 homers tho. JJ Hardy has a wrist fracture - out up to 2 months, plus he's old. Schoop? Depends on what they could get. Chris Davis out with an oblique. Adam Jones? No way. Face of the franchise type player. Gausman? All the talent and potential but struggling to get it together so no return on the potential. Tillman? Struggling coming back from a shoulder injury and a FA at the end of the season. Miley? What would he return? Zach Britton? Been hurt all year so they would be selling low. Trumbo? Maybe but what would the return be?

I think they are in the same place they have been in past seasons. Keeping their guys probably provides more value or potential value to them if they right the ship than what they would bring in return.

We've got a month to see how things pan out.

The Halos BP has been incredible this year, stocked with a bunch of no names. We have a guy, Middleton, who may be a star. And we just got Cam Bedrosian back. If we can continue to tread .500 ball, we will be in the running for that second WC spot. Just need Trout back.

All five of our projected starters during TC are now on the DL with Shoemaker, the latest, to be put on it. Our BP, along with the emergence of Eric Young Jr. and Cam Maybin are what's keeping us alive.

So was the Rangers' pen last year....... things change my friend..... things change.....
Oh, I know. I was just quipping that we had no clue it would be this good. This Angels' season has been largely disappointing (due to injuries), and Mike Trout's 3rd MVP going up in flames when he tore his UCL.

STILL, Billy Eppler, our new GM, has been a godsend.

That injury thing contributed to the Astros losing 6 out of 10.

At one point their top 5 starting pitchers were all on the DL.

One has come back, one comes back Sunday.

The other two are probably at least a week away.

The other, McHugh has pitched yet this season.

Fortunately they haven't had any of their starters succumb to the infamous "Tommy John" surgery.

Today Houston was the 4th team since 2000 to have 50 victories this early in the season.
