I like this pic. Before all the fame and money...and built an empire together
Yeah! Well said. Jerry looked rugged.

Believe it or not at one time I respected Jerry as a GM...back in the 90's. I've gotten bitter at him over the years. On HOF night I will cheer for him because he is a Cowboy and if we don't then who will. I understand him going in but not before Jimmy but oh well. As for his wife as his presenter I think it was a great choice.

Agreed. Me too. Those early years were great. Whatever happened the next 20+ yrs..IDK. But, Jones, l always believed, wanted to win and his biggest, human, fault was loyality!!

Oh I always believed he wanted to win and he was very loyal to his players. You can tell that they love him. Great qualities to have. I just wish his I want to win but my way would have ended years ago. Clint Murchison was a great owner because he let football people run the organization.

And with that decision, Jerry instantly earns a massive amount of "chicky-babe credits (tm)" to use when needed. They can be used at home with his wife or in the public arena to insulate him from criticism for some future behavior.

He also shifts the pressure on to future inductees who are married to keep pace or have to answer to their spouses about why they chose another presenter.

Who says he's not a smart businessman?

Same with Kraft. Cares so deeply for his players, team, city, and coach/GM, but he stays away when it's prudent to.

Jerry never saw it prudent to defer football moves to those who should have handled them, thus handcuffing the org for two decades.

But alas, he's been out of the kitchen the last few years, more or less... and tada! We're on the up and up :)
