Therein lies my issue. Jerry had insider info before and turned out to be wrong. The fact that the NFL filed a motion of dismissal on the Zeke case tells me they are posturing to dig in.

The only good I see on the horizon is Zeke will play against the Giants. But if he still has to serve it at some point this year, I'd prefer he get it over with.
Motions of dismissal are routine in legal cases.

Cowboys' Jerry Jones: 'I'll have good news' this week on Ezekiel Elliott

Ezekiel Elliott's fate rests with league-appointed arbitrator Harold Henderson, who has yet to rule on whether the Cowboys running back will face a six-game suspension related to domestic assault allegations, or if that suspension will be reduced or dropped altogether.

The NFL Players Association was concerned enough to file a temporary restraining order against the league for the express purpose of "prevent[ing] the National Football League from enforcing the six-game suspension imposed by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell."

PFT changed the article name from "good news" to "more news". Recommend changing the post title too before everyone crucifies Jerry for making false promises again, when in fact, he was incorrectly quoted by PFT but since corrected.

Let's hope that the news to come is good. (There's no doubt there'll be more -- but good is so much better.) Sigh. ;)

I hope you are correct. That is initially what I thought. But I have heard differently.

There has NEVER NEVER not even one time been an instance in nfl history that the commissioner didn't accept the lowered down suspension from an appeal arbitrator. There is no way around that. Where did you see any differently?

On another thread this was being discussed...not sure which one. Someone indicated that Goodell doesn't have to accept Harold's ruling and I suspect that is correct. Just as the player has the ability to file for an injunction, I suspect the league has the ability to take similar steps to pursue a suspension. I don't know it to be true, but it sounds credible.

well, I guess we now know that Jerry wasn't referring to a reduction / elimination of the suspension....or if he was, he was wrong again. The only thing that he could have been referring to is EE playing Sunday.

Jerry Jones promises “good news” on Ezekiel Elliott

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones doesn’t say much (relatively speaking) when it comes to running back Ezekiel Elliott‘s ongoing suspension situation. But when Jones talks, he says plenty.

“I don’t want to make the comment, and I know y’all can imagine with all that we have flying around the courtrooms and the basic hearing rooms,” Jones said when asked about Elliott during his Tuesday visit with 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. “That would be one I’d pass on this morning.”

And then he added this: “I’ll have good news for you as we get into the week.”

It’s unclear what the nature of the good news would be. The best news would be a decision by arbitrator Harold Henderson to overturn the suspension entirely, which would end the situation and allow Elliott to play.

Jones also was asked whether he expects a decision on Tuesday.
We already know Jerry....Zeke's playing Sunday night......Could we have more current events please?
