People turning on Dak after week 2?

Agreed, but my reply was to someone blaming everything but the moon as to why Dak played like he did. He played like that because Zeke couldn't run the ball in support. Dak has been hailed as the savior by a lot of posters and in all reality has benefitted immensely all of last year by the run game.
Absolutely.. and the reason why Zeke should have won rookie of the year etc etc.. Dak got a lot of glory for making some pretty simple throws against coverage that was stacked to stop the 120 yards Zeke was trucking every single game.

I know everyone points to 2015 and says "not everyone could do what Dak did" on the basis of Weedon/Cassel failing.. but lets look at facts.. in 2015 we did not have Zeke... DMac had a great season (1000+ yds) but he isn't a superstar. Also some seem to have short memories.. we should have won a heck of a lot more games in 2015 even with those trucks of QB's if our defence was able to hold out for one more series. How many games lost in the last drive/overtime?!!!

So whilst others use 2015 as an argument for Dak.. I kinda saw it the other way.. our offence was so good that we made guys like Weedon look capable of winning football games.

So YES Dak was absolutely (no doubt about it) better than Weedon and Cassel.. he isn't the superstar he was made out to be. He was a sensible player who worked hard, stuck to the systems and benefitted greatly from a league leading OL, RB and handy receiving corp. Our defence also held 'well' in comparison to previous years.

That is what is so frustrating.. I have no doubt we will win a lot of games this year.. a lot.. and we SHOULD win those games because the pieces are all still there. Go back to the Run First policy, get Lineham out of there and Garrett too.. and why not celebrate Dak as a bus driver? I know it ain't flattering but I actually have no problem with him being a bus driver.. he is a steady hand, hard worker and showed sound mechanics in the death last year.. so use that.. rather than having him out there calling audibles and acting like a stud pony.

So I would agree Zeke didn't get the chance to shine yesterday and it cost this team big team. He is not a bus driver.. he is an elite grade RB and we refused to use him correctly because Dak has 'taken over' the offence and wants to be aaron rodgers. Mentioned it last week and it became painful this week.. Dak is simply not playing his role right now and the whole offence is suffering. I am not surprised that Zeke is checking a tantrum.. four touches in a half???!!! Get real!

My point is he is a bus driver when the best run blocking OL isn't opening holes for him. He has to make plays on his own sometimes, not just ride the bus (OL opened holes he gets). Hit the outside more, stop going up the middle. If Dak gets criticized for this being a Bus driver (his talent around him drives his success), then Zeke should too.

Excellent. Can already see the lines being drawn.

Team Prescott.

Team Elliott.

Must see tv. Get your popcorn ready. *hits popcorn button on microwave*
Personally, I'm a team Cowboys

This team needs a good QB but it also needs to play to its strength. the whole roster is set up to be a run first team.. plain and simple. So why abandon that after getting stuffed on two run plays??

I'd prefer both players going well and the Cowboys winning SB's...

I am not turning on Prescott but he has played poorly the first two games. he is struggling to get the ball down field. he needs to start hitting downfield or the running game is going to be stopped. also we really do not have anyone behind him to push him so we just have to hope he starts to play better if not this will be a certain 7-9 to 8-8 season. too many great offenses to face the rest of the season and just do not know if Prescott can keep up with them.

Dak isn't the only one who isn't playing well. The OL was terrible this game, Zeke did nothing in 9 carries. 1 total yard. The wr's can't get open. The DL can't get pressure outside of DLawrence. BJones can't tackle or cover. JHeath can't takcle but can hit his own teammates. This is a team game.

It would be boring around here otherwise...

You need 2 guys on the Cowboys to fill the hole left the "Pro-Romo" and "Romo sucks" camps breaking up.

I think the problem is that lots of people would agree that Dak isn't the whole reason why we lost.. not even close.. but he is the only one that gets defended on here like some untouchable God.

There is absolutely no debate that the OL was bad, the Defence was woeful across the board, Lee had his worst game in recent memory, Jones is just diabolical.. carroll was humiliating and Heath is great one play and then jnr high level the next. Zeke was ineffectual, Beasley wasn't targeted that often and was mostly manhandled out of the game.. Witten was good except for missing a few blocks and dropping the TD catch.. Dez was ok on inside crossing routes but got messed up when we worked it to him 50-50 on the outside.. most agree that he cost 1 INT but saved 2-3 others.

So all of that can be agreed upon and hence no more discussion.. the reason why the Dak debate is swirling is because there are a bunch of guys that want to defend his performance yesterday when it was just as putrid as anything i just mentioned.. if not more so. It also backs up what MANY posters were saying after week 1.. Dak looked really crap in that game too but his stats looked all shiny and we won because the Giants were woeful.

I also think this concept of 'turning' on Dak is overstated. I think many of us are just simply trying to have the discussion we have been having since Dak kept the job (wrongly imho) last year about whether or not we should have cast Romo aside so quickly in favour of this 4th round pick.

I still think Dak and this team can do great things this season, but a change in philosophy is needed and far better execution by Dak.

Agreed.

Prescott needs to play better.

But you have to give the defenses the Cowboys have faced some credit. Maybe the two best defenses in the NFL.

In addition I wonder how much that ankle injury affected him yesterday.

To me i thought it was insane to label Dak the next great thing. Some people actually said he was better than tom Brady Today!!! I like this kid but im going to be honest im scared. First off I loved Romo and always thought he should have got his job back when healthy. But thats over and done with. Dak to me os a great guy. Hard working and so easy to route for. I like him alot. But its scares me so much he cant throw the ball down field with accuracy. He is a frontrunning player ( not a knock really ) If are running the ball well and controlling the ball he will be succesful. If any of that does not work he is an average at best QB. ( right now) Maybe he learns maybe he gets better. But people were praising this guy like he was the greatest player of all time. He will be a victim of a team with a very bad pass defense. Lets be honest. We have not bwen good since Darren Woodson retired. We cant cover anyone. These young guys we drafted are going to take time to see how good they are. I said it and i still believe it. This team wont make the playoffs. Thats not saying they stink blah blah. Im just saying. Be careful saying this team is great. We are not great yet. Lets see how this all plays out

The Broncos in Mile High made a QB look bad?

I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

Step away from the ledge. Dak will be fine.

We don't celebrate Dak as a bus driver because he's not a bus driver. The comeback against the steelers is not bus driving. The comeback against Philly is not bus driving. Beating Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay without Dez Bryant is not bus driving. Coming back against Green Bay in the playoffs until Byron Jones left his guy wide open is not bus driving.

Many, many people have pointed out since the Giants game of Dak overthrowing recievers, not going thru his reads, etc. He gets crticism as much as anyone here if not more. "He is no Romo, etc." How many posts have we had on that? Around a 100 or so since his rookie year? If that is an untouchable God, then it must be the God only you are accustomed to.

A lot of people also forget we lost several close games in 2015 and won several close games in 2016. That is a stat that often flips every year according to vegas...

Turning on Dak or just admitting reality?

He's not been good the first two weeks. He was actually pretty horrible today.

That's just the reality. It doesn't mean he's now Brandon Weeden forever, but the first two games have done nothing to quell the belief that maybe last year was just the fluke year for Dak.

I told you people you would be wanting Kellen Moore. No one believed me. Yet here it is. He would have carved the Broncos up yesterday by audibling out of half the junk we ran yesterday. yeah...he's that smart. It would have been like having a coach on the field instead of the high school QB Prescott is turning out to be.

If Prescott isn't gonna use his best asset..his legs..and run...then he is the next bust @ QB. Don't get me wrong....he has that X factor....but It's as if he is so determined to prove he can be a pocket QB...that he refuses to use what makes him good.
