If it's just a technical or flagrant, it's meaningless. Even in the playoffs, burning a flagrant point is well worth getting the best player on the other team off the court.

If it's attempted, it should be a flagrant. If it's successful and results in injury, that player should be sidelined for multiple games. If it's the playoffs, sidelined for the rest of the series. Even this won't address the issue entirely because you can send a bench guy in to take the punishment. Need to start dropping bombs on their wallet. That's when it stops.

I'm not really a spurs fan but I have to agree!
I have said for years that pop is the best coach in NBA history.
There are a fair amount of coaches that have won titles but not many that have done with multiple, very different sets of players.

I understand that rule but it will be interesting to see how the refs will call it when there are some shooters move forward for a jumpshot because the defenders have their own space as well.

Well...... I think Green Bay and Pittsburgh would have something to say about this but I do agree with you, the Spurs have been great for the last 20 years or so.

Since the franchise started in 67/68 they have had only 8 losing seasons (only 6 in the NBA), 2 .500 seasons (1 in the NBA), and they only missed the playoffs 5times as a franchise (4 in the NBA).

They moved to SA in 73 and joined the NBA in 76. They have 5 titles in 6 appearances. They have been to the Conference Finals in both conferences. They have a winning record over every other NBA franchise they have played. They have either the 1st or 2nd best winning % in NBA history.

So yes, the greatest small market franchise. BTW, I conider Pittsburgh to be a large market. Plus, before Noll, they were putrid. After the 70s, they were horrible again, until the early 90s. GB is small market, but too many mediocre years before Lombardi and between Lombardi and Favre.

Pittsburgh is not a Large Market Team. Pittsburgh is a Small Market Team. I am not a fan of either Pittsburgh or Green Bay so as I said before, have this discussion with a Pittsburgh or Green Bay fan and lets see what they have to say.

I might also throw Edmonton and Montreal into the mix as well. Didn't really think about Hockey but both of those teams are small market with a lot of success. I might actually say that Montreal is the greatest small market franchise of all time. Hard to say.

How is montreal a small market city....i will give you edmonton, but aside from the 80s, what have they done? Think about the stats I posted. It wasn't just a decade or so. They have been good pretty much their entire existence. So give me just one example of a small market team with minimal mediocrity. To exist for over 50 years and have only 8 losing seasons is unreal, over 40 in the NBA with only 6 losing seasons. Since 1989/90, aside from 1 bad year, 50 + wins a season, with a handful of 60+ wins in a loaded conference.

Well, Montreal is like 1.7 million I think and San Antonio is something like 1.4 million. If you are going to say that San Antonio is a small market, I don't really see why you wouldn't consider Montreal as a small market team. To be honest, I don't really think either is a small market. However, revenue wise, they are probably both small market.

It is based on media size. That is why I considered Pitt a large market. I thought their media market was big, maybe I am wrong.

I know if SA were to merge with Austin, we would be a large market instantly.

As for the rule, I'm glad it got attention. **** Pachulia for that nonsense.
