lol wut. The armed services has not in anyway condemned the protests and you don't get to speak for "the military. The people that are taking issue are the police unions and it is precisely them that are being protested.

The national anthem is about our country and that includes everyone and not just who you want to speak for.

Police unions are a blight.
He most certainly doesn't get to speak for the military.

There's enough in these forums doing so, and we take no issue with some dude taking a calm knee to try to land a point.

I'm more disrespected by people like him, using us as pawns, than anything any protester does.

Dead on brother. I hate when people act like they care so much about us and are so outraged for us, when we are okay with people using their rights that we fight for.

Yes. I don't see how that changes the sincerity of what I said, though.
What branch?

Of course it does... well not the sincerity part, I never questioned your sincerity, my brother.

People speaking on behalf of us, when they've never done a lick of service, is disgusting.

The anthem doesn't represent us, our fallen (I lost four battles), or our Arms.

It represents our history, our country, and everything we stand for. Everything.

Explain, please. That's an awfully vague post. Are you referencing the OP?

Yes. Should have explained better. All these fake articles claiming Jerry said such and such yet not one reputable source or any proof of Jerry himself saying these things. It's getting ridiculous how easy it is these days to spread false information and no one even takes any time to see if it is legit. If Jerry Jones, the most powerful owner in all of sports comes out and says this, every major news outlet known would be running with this. Yet it's janky websites and sources only covering this? Riiiight. Jerry doesn't roll that way. He would never make a statement like this. It's not who he is.

Good stuff, Spider. Thanks for the reply. Couldn't agree more, my man

Jerry has never confirmed or denied the statement.......... he made other general statements in Jerry-ese that imply he is against the kneeling but won't expressly prohibit it .... I think he was furious when the NFL denied his attempt to wear the Police decals and that is were his allegiance lies

We will see how united the team is over this issue because it will come to a head Monday night.... the League is 70% black and no one wants to come out against the cause and that is why it took the POTUS to move the issue ......everyone is too scared to openly talk about racial issues honestly and that is in itself a form of censorship itself........ it is easy to soap box and pile on and group think these type of issues and the truth always get buried

I think JG and JJ want complete unity but I see a few guys kneeling and the rest supporting them, which I think is a cop out

Given the history of the Cowboys since the 90s it is little surprise that it would be in his benefit to have the police on his side.

lol, how anyone could be dense enough to believe that's a genuine quote is beyond me. When has anyone heard Jerry Jones talk that way?
Exactly...I've seen so many people post this story on Facebook, it's all I can do to not call them out on it.

It is really simple, it just comes down to the NFL teams possibly losing money. That is the reason Kraft came out with his statement against Trump.

BS, I work extremely hard to make a change in my community. I have for years worked my *** off with the teenage homeless community and homeless lgbt teenage community here in Salt Lake City. I find it offensive to see a bunch of rich football players making a superficial gesture and we are supposed to act like they are fighting injustice. Not one person I have ever worked with has had a job doing the community service projects we do. Most go and work a 40 he week and volunteer in the evenings and weekends. And absolutely none have the income to make the kinda change NFL players do!
I don't have a real problem with them sitting for the anthem. I do have a problem when we are being told that they are fighters for social equality, when they are actually doing nothing.
I appreciate your social work really i do but everyone in a high visible position who "demonstrates" for others is not to be slandered.
Kaepernick has given up maybe his career by his behaviors and i salute him.

Well thank you for all you have done for our country. I've retired after 20 years, myself, but I look at the anthem as a moment of remembrance and the flag is a symbol of our freedom. I agree with you, and if all Americans knew what the anthem and the flag mean to some of us, they'd be inspired to share a moment of remembrance with us!

If they really want to make change, then actually do something to Foster change. As it is right now, these guys are just standing up to Trump because he insulted them.

I think it's a little more complicated than that.

Thank you for your service. I agree the flag is a symbol of our freedom...where we differ (maybe) is how freedom is defined and what it truly means. A very rich man i once knew told me what being rich really meant...Freedom..the person who is doing well is experiencing true freedom. But what about the 40% of African American children who are living in poverty? What about the 3 Million people locked up in for profit prisons and most are in for non violent drug offenses? In many cases they were expressing their "freedom" to self medicate. Now their lives are taken from them, their families are forced into poverty and the cycle repeats.... The point is "Freedom" is what people are standing up for (or kneeling for). Economic freedom, racial freedom, true freedom. In a country where over 65% of the people cant afford a $1k emergency there isnt much freedom left. This oligarchy where the concentration of wealth at the top and the ever reducing social safety nets are not what brave men of the military put their 1 and only life on the line for.

People dont realize that the conversation is worth having and its not as much a black and white thing as a have and have not thing.

Yes, but disrespecting the symbol of freedom we share is negatively affecting the argument. There's a wrong way to say the right thing. That's worth repeating, There's a WRONG way to say the RIGHT thing.

Its not up to me to determine for anyone else if their kneeling, locking arms, sitting down is there attempts to disrespect the flag. We don't get to put our beliefs and feelings onto someone else and make the determination they are disrespecting the flag for them. I don't see kneeling as disrespecting a symbol of freedom as much as its calling out that the freedoms the flag represent are not being honored by our government at this time in history.

If someone were burning, destroying, spitting on, or wiping their butt on the flag then I can say they are intending to disrespect the flag (still their right).

We should be at the point now where we can listen and empathize with fellow Americans who see life and freedom being under attack. These are not the people who are unfair, heartless, unjust.. these are just the people wanting to call attention to it. When anyone hurts or feels the way these people do then we should all hurt with them, not look down on them for asking us to see our world through their eyes. Or tell them how and where they can make there protest so that we dont have to see it and can diminish their pain in our heads and hearts.
