This is the anthem we should respect?

The Forgotten Verses of “The Star-Spangled Banner” | Dictionary.com Blog

O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
O’er the ramparts we watch’d were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there,
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream,
’Tis the star-spangled banner—O long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore,
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion
A home and a Country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash’d out their foul footstep’s pollution.

No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,

And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand
Between their lov’d home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with vict’ry and peace may the heav’n rescued land
Praise the power that hath made and preserv’d us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto – “In God is our trust,”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

B b but they took the third verse out.

They need a new song then:

We bombed them, took their oil, took their resources, we closed their banks that wouldn't submit, their camels couldn't outrun our gunships, la la la

The emancipation of proclamation ended slavery in America in 1863 - not one person in America today was alive during the slavery era. I'm sure there are hundreds of internet forums one could discuss and share their hatred of and for America.

Possibly we can turn a corner and return the Cowboyszone back to talking about Cowboys football.

Last I checked, this is very specifically a place for discussion of these issues. Don't like it? Go back to the Fan Forum.

I don't hate America I hate a lot of people in it. And me not being alive during slavery is irrelevant

The slave is the colonists. They have no choice but to stand and fight. Refuge is a place to hide. so there is no place to hide, just "face the music"

It doesn't mean anything that you are saying.

okay, I'm just saying there are so may internet forums out there that you'd probably like better where these topics are discussed 24/7. You'd probably have more insightful dialogs, etc, if that's something you're actually interested in having.

I do go to other places. If people weren't coming on here broadcasting that they are done with the NFL I wouldn't say anything. I didn't start this but I'll finish it

unlike You I have evidence to support my opinion in much greater measure.

If you do not like things here- why not go to North Korea? I am sure you would be welcome

I submit that they can go anywhere else. England, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, etc. I would not restrict it to dictatorships as that is setting the bar too low. I will take whatever country in the world that they feel is better and they are more than welcome to move out there.
