I think Terrence and Butler are both needed. I was surprised several wanted to see Butler gone this year with Brown taking his spot. Both Terrence and Butler may or may not be here several years, but they bring speed to this offense. Dez and Witten are not speed options obviously. We have the smurf patrol who do what they do well but aren't speed threats. This team needs two guys who can give the threat to stretch the defense. I am sure the Rams will need to pay attention to the big play threat of Butler this upcoming week. That is important. I am sure a healthy Williams is going to have several chances to make big plays as well as the season progresses.

Noticed this too last night, although only on one play.

In all fairness, sometimes they ask him to cut across the line and block a fully charging DE, which is ridiculous to ask 35 year old Jason Witten to do that.

Agreed, but I think his inline blocking has been very average as well. They really need to start exploring a replacment next offseason unless they believe Rico is truly the answer.

Some guys are really doing well and are showing promise. Others are disappointing or playing poorly as some thought. Last night was all about Dak and Lawrence

Players Im excited about or happy with:

-Lawrence (Looks all world)
-Dak
-Butler
-Malik Collins
-Jourdan Lewis
-Xavier Woods
-Chaz Green (Been really hard on him. Nice job, can he stay healthy?)

Guys I am down on after 3 games:
-Collins RT
-Zeke (Yah he is great, but not enough make em miss)
-Byron Jones (definitely no superstar in the making)
-Jaylon Smith (not 100% and playing poorly)

Guys I think are 100% garbage:

-Jeff Heath (Said it many times and I will say it again. Hes awefull)
-Williams WR (Would anyone notice or care if this guy was cut?)
-Crawford DE (Can we please cut the guy after this year?)

You're being awefully tough on Jeff Heath.

I am amazed that there are fans of this team that feel good about the QB after watching that game.

Which one of the 13 completions dazzled you?

I agree with most of your list.

DOWNS
-I don't like Zeke's body language at all. He seems lethargic and uninspired. And slow. Very slow. We're 2-1 DESPITE him so far.

-Byron Jones seriously needs to be a corner full time. He has 1on1 cover skills, and not much else whatsoever. As a safety, if you need someone to trail their man by a step and JUST miss out on making a play, Byron Jones is an all-pro.

-La'el concerns me to a certain degree. I think he is still adjusting to the RT position. But when quickness is involved (either blocking out on the edge against DBs or quick ends), he really struggles and whiffs a lot. Hopefully he improves.

UPS
-Jourdan Lewis. The kid plays with instinct. I pray he can stay healthy.

- Tank, obviously. What an animal.

-I also liked what I saw from Switzer. He's starting to get a feel in the return game

Zeke did appear to gain some " mojo" on his TD run taking out the defender on his way in.

Byron Jones needs to be a slot CB. He's pretty decent against slot receivers and TE's.

As a safety? YIKES! He's terrible.

Keep him as a slot corner and put Frazier and/or Woods back there.

I think we will see that happen as either of them gets more experience. Frazier with a great tackle on special teams

Unfortunately Dallas is stuck with crawford another year.

I think that they have to approach him about accepting a significant pay cut. If push comes to shove, I think they can cut him and save about $1.8 million. The dead cap space will be huge, but at least they'll be out of what is undoubtedly an epically-bad contract.

Crawford is and always has been a team guy, so hopefully he and his agent will see that he's grossly overpaid and be reasonable about a salary reduction.

All of them. But then to pathological types on certain subjects there is no reason to even respond.

Crawford, I think, is in a contract year, so if his lackluster play continues, they won't have to cut him.

Crawford's contract runs through 2020, though this offseason he can be cut and we get a net 1.8M in cap space vs. keeping him ($9,100,000 hit if we keep him vs. $7,300,000 hit if we cut him). He isn't giving us much, but even that not much may be hard to replace for 1.8M. After that he is likely gone.

I could have sworn I'd read somewhere both his and Tank's contract is up after the year. Thanks for the info.

With that said, much then depends on the ascension of Irving/Tapper/Taco. They may just make him obsolete at his current contract value....or, at least, I wouldn't be surprised.

Yeah, given we seem to have a logjam on the DL, assuming we can avoid more suspensions and everyone progresses as they appear to be doing, Crawford should probably be odd man out. His ROI is not good.

His value, I believe, for the most part is his flexibility on the DL. They can plug him into any position along the front 4 and for the most part not miss a beat. He will never be spectacular, as was Tank last night, but he flirts with solid on a fairly consistent basis. So, I get both sides of the argument.
