This is the exact quote from Kapernick. "I'm not going to show pride for a flag in a country that oppresses black people and people of color".

Pretty clear what he is saying. "He is not showing pride for the flag". Beyond that, I don't care what his protest is about. It could be about martians. Get it off the field and out of the game. It's no different than hollywood actors. I don't give a crap about their political views. Just make a movie and I will pay to watch or I won't.

The fact is that he has used the flag for his personal protest. Honestly, I don't care what he has to say. It's irrelevant. Kapernick and all players who followed him are the same. It's not his field, his stadium, his platform to express his feelings using the flag in protest.

Having said that, what happens now with the Cowboys next Sunday. Do you support players who kneel for the flag knowing what the true meaning of what Kapernick has promoted. Or, if they kneel, are the players doing it in support of something else like free speech (which is bull****) or what Trump said.

Regardless, the NFL game when I'm watching needs to be political free. Do your free speech/opinions in your own damn time and not on the sideline before the game. I just want to watch football peacefully to get my mind away from news and the political world.

In case you didn't read this part here I'll post it for you

For all those who care enough to understand: I have a friend who just posted this backstory. Did you know this?

Aug 14, 2016- Colin Kaepernick sits for the national anthem.....and no one noticed.

Aug 20th, 2016- Colin again sits, and again, no one noticed.

Aug 26th, 2016- Colin sits and this time he is met with a level of vitriol unseen against an athlete. Even the future President of the United States took shots at him while on the campaign trail. Colin went on to explain his protest had NOTHING to with the military, but he felt it hard to stand for a flag that didn't treat people of color fairly.

Then on on Aug 30th, 2016 Nate Boyer, a former Army Green Beret turned NFL long snapper, penned an open letter to Colin in the Army Times. In it he expressed how Colin's sitting affected him.

Then a strange thing happened. Colin was able to do what most Americans to date have not...

He listened.

In his letter Mr. Boyer writes:

"I’m not judging you for standing up for what you believe in. It’s your inalienable right. What you are doing takes a lot of courage, and I’d be lying if I said I knew what it was like to walk around in your shoes. I’ve never had to deal with prejudice because of the color of my skin, and for me to say I can relate to what you’ve gone through is as ignorant as someone who’s never been in a combat zone telling me they understand what it’s like to go to war.

Even though my initial reaction to your protest was one of anger, I’m trying to listen to what you’re saying and why you’re doing it."

Mr. Boyer goes on to write "There are already plenty people fighting fire with fire, and it’s just not helping anyone or anything. So I’m just going to keep listening, with an open mind.

I look forward to the day you're inspired to once again stand during our national anthem. I'll be standing right there next to you."

Empathy and understanding was shown by Mr. Boyer.........and Mr. Kaepernick reciprocated. Colin invited Nate to San Diego where the two had a 90 minute discussion and Nate proposed Colin kneel instead of sit.

But why kneel? In a military funeral, after the flag is taken off the casket of the fallen military member, it is smartly folded 13 times and then presented to the parents, spouse or child of the fallen member by a fellow service member while KNEELING. The two decided that kneeling for the flag would symbolize his reverence for those that paid the ultimate sacrifice while still allowing Colin to peacefully protest the injustices he saw.

Empathy, not zealotry under the guise of patriotism, is the only way meaningful discussion can be had. Mr. Kaepernick listened to all of you that say he disrespects the military and extended an olive branch to find a peace.

When will America listen to him?

@CowboyStar88 - If you read my post. Who gives a crap about the personal opinions of a player. This is about keeping political/personal views off the field. Have you ever wonder why Kapernick is unemployed? No owner wanted him. Ask yourself why.

Yeah, I added to it. You have a problem with it.
I'll go try to figure out what you added and then get back with you. :) What I've already read sounds fine. :D

Okay, read it all.... this message needs to be sent to Roger the Clown by everyone that concurs with it.

I simply posted what the timeline was and what a veteran did so some could understand it.

If you can't see it's a platform for them, I don't know what to tell you. You've yet to actually address the issue of what they're protesting. See what the fire chief in Pittsburgh said and maybe you'll understand it.

Ask myself why? Because he was an overrated football player who regressed greatly, and was benched in favor for Blaine freaking Gabbert

@CowboyStar88 - You didn't mention the TV interview here he said the following. "I'm not going to show pride for a flag in a country that oppresses black people and people of color". This is where it all started. With that statement is where we are at today and why we are talking about this.

I added to what you posted, so that you can see that after he said that he had the meeting posted above. Why his position changed from sitting to Kneeling and why he's stated over that it has nothing to do with the military which is why everyone is angry about it. You know a young kid maybe didn't choose his words correctly, and has seen stuck to his message of this isn't about the military.

nope... treat your allies well, you'll appreciate them when the mob tries to gang up on you.

Why can't there just be an open conversation?

See this is the problem it's you vs us. That's what some of you made this out to be.

@CowboyStar88 - an why should I address why they are protesting. It's football, I don't give a crap of why they are protesting. I love Tom Cruise movies. He is some crazy scientologist. Even knowing that, he doesn't spew his views so I don't care. I just watch his movies. Just play the game and keep your views to yourself.

@CowboyStar88 - seriously how old are you. I'm having a hard time believing you are protecting that millionaire undeserving punk who no owner wants him. Isn't that funny though. These owners all got out this weekend in support of him, yet none of them will hire him

My age? Where did I say I supported him? I merely presented facts that's all. Also answered your question as to why he isn't hired which you ignored. You find it funny yet he sucks as a QB sorry don't know what else to tell you. And if you want my age go ahead and click on my profile it will direct you to it.

Have a good night you win

If you go looking for a fight long enough, you'll eventually find one. Life is too short to be tallying "me vs them".
