There is no knock on Taco. Someone mentioned that it takes time to develop a DE.
My knock, painted highlands lad, was the notion that it takes an extended amount of time to develop a DE.
It does take time, but should not be a career-long process such as carver, ekuban et. al.
Granted, Taco has only four games under his belt.
I am sure that in Year 2 or 3 he will blossom. Otherwise, it is time to get another can't-miss DE.

How are people even comparing him to Ware, when both were rookies.

Taco is credited with 2 tackles and 1 assist.

Ware had 8 sacks, 47 tackles and 11 assists..

The main point being Taco isn't even close to being on pace for that..

Yeah. Folks here are calling for this secondary to come forward this year and win a SB. WTH. It takes 3 yrs for a Safety or Corner to become truly NFL ready. This defense is 2 drafts and some serious luck away from being SB ready. Anything else is HOPE and BS.

Ware had no competition to start and he played 3-4 OLB. It's not a direct comparison.

True, I guess the point is, people are using Merriman should have been picked before Ware as some sort of measure on judging Taco.. Merriman's numbers were not that much different than Ware, the first three years.

Yep I remember he gained like 30 pounds leading up to the draft....seemed fishy.
It just took 3 years to catch him

Yes sir! That's why I'm worried about Irving. His PEDs suspension claims that he had "tainted" supplements. I'm hoping that this is the case and not that he's been using it for the last 3 years and just now got caught.

Possibly daily until it is determined the season is simply for a better draft pick, or they get back to 2016 form.

Then there will still be people screaming about something. But what may be the most hilarious thing of all is if by some miracle the team became made it to the SB. The week leading up there will be people wringing hands on this board about salary space and how we are doomed to repeat.
