How disillusioned with this team are you?

Heck if I know. Given their history under Garrett and the Zeke suspension looming it had a whole regression vibe though.
I say we are an average team right now and we play average throughout the season. We might barely make the playoffs but I doubt we last past the first round. I agree with the fact we’ve regressed. We need better coaches but that looks doubtful.

I've been reading about the Cowboys high level of talent on message boards for over a decade,
Yes hard to believe those Zone scouts havent been hired by Jerry yet.

Disillusioned? You should have asked me that 20 years ago. I'm used to the same song-and-dance each year since.

I just hope they do something over the bye week to try to improve what they are doing. If it takes a shake up in the defense or offense, please do it. Don't be loyal. We need to win now!

I am disappointed but not surprised that the whole front office and coaching staff seemed to have overrated the talent level of the team.
I dont understand these posts, what have you been watching the last 22 years?

They were charmed last season. A 13-2 (finale doesn't count) team they were not. You had to expect a much rougher road this year. Which is what they've got and why they won't win anything this season. We are playing out the string only to have the same offseason conversations of the last 20 years.

It's only a quarter through the season and there seems to be an all is lost sense among Cowboys fans already.
I think we are looking at things not turning around given our defensive deficiencies and the loss of Zeke.
Our once vaunted Offensive line has been less than stellar and has not allowed us to preserve/hide our defense and their deficiencies by consistently establishing the running game.
We may be able to salvage a winning record but could be left out of the Playoff picture.
Philly is playing well and seem to be on their way to winning the division outside of any major injuries.
There's still plenty of football and unknowns yet to come but unless we get on a serious hot streak, we may be on the outside looking in come Playoff time.

Every year it never changes. Ever since the days of Anthony Wright and onto Quincy Carter, through Leaf, Henson, Hutchinson, Bledsoe......Hook line and sucker right here

my disillusionment always resides with jeri and the rest of his clan who are more entrenched than ever.

I dont believe they'll ever be better than their peers whom they have to compete against so Imho, its going to take an extraordinary confluence of events to overcome the leadership at the top for the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl again.

I believe in the old adage "good teams win those games."
Good teams at the beginning of the season are not always the good teams by the end of the season and vice-versa.

Just find a way to scrape out some wins and worry about how good you are if you make the playoffs.

Except they are going to have the same coaching staff and the same defense in December.

It's the same coaches from last year's 13-3 team.

Where is the defensive roster that much worse?
DE better with healthy DLaw
LB same if Lee/Hitchens together
DT worse at 1-tech but McClain faded last season.
FS same or better
Scandrick same or better

So far that's a net positive with a Healthy DLaw more than offsetting the 1-tech issue.

That leaves:
Lewis - Probably as good as Carr in this scheme already.

Brown - Started over half of 2016 so he can only be better.

Heath vs Church - Church better against the run but not much if any better against the pass. Woods or Awuzie probably start taking snaps from Heath. Woods has played a lot already and Awuzie played when healthy.

It would be very hard to get over it an average team like the Eagles, Panthers, Broncos, or Rams wins the Super Bowl, knowing we werent that far off last year and decided to rebuild.

Or Philly gets an injury like Aaron Rodgers did.

We ourselves are one or two injuries from 6-10 for the year.

But I have seen this team meet the challenge of a poor start..

and finish in the playoffs before.

Its time for DAK to takeover the show..

I want to see what he can accomplish given the hand being dealt.

Romo used to win alot like this.

Time for DAK to run the train.

Same ole Cowboys for the past 10 years.

Since 2010, the Cowboys are 15-10 at home when they score 30 points. A lowly 60 percent winning percentage.

Easy schedule? Playoffs. Hard schedule? No playoffs.

Fugly. This team ignored it's offensive and defensive lines for years. Now, they let Ron Leary go, overdraft Taco, and here we are again.

This about sums it up.

I've been reading about the Cowboys high level of talent on message boards for over a decade, as if it's across the board better than most teams. I've even seen it used as a defense for Jerry the GM, blaming coaches for wasting his elite roster.

Where is this superior talent? What unit of the Cowboys is head and shoulders above the rest right now? Green Bay didn't just win because of Rodgers. They ran the ball down our throats using a 5th round rookie RB. The Rams torched our defense as well - only settling for a crazy number of field goals kept that game close.

Part of that is Marinellis bull**** coaching method.
