When did Jerry become so tight?

It seems like Paea's knee was an issue before he arrived.

This article indicates the knee was a problem this spring.

Well he played well for a bit, then his knee got worse... Either way we need a new 1-Tech that can move two bodies...

I understand the philosophy of building through the draft and finding bargains. However I think Stephen is a tad misunderstanding the reason why only one team can do this year in and out. New England and because of Belechik. Jerry has not signed a worthy big impact FA since T.O. and tht turned out pretty good. The Mavericks penny pinch now also and look at what happens when you blow up a championship squad. They are bottom feeders for years again. Jerry also opened his big mouth and now free agents will also avoid because of that.We were 13-3. All we needed was a couple nice upgrades on defense and keep the team together mostly. You dont let Leary go,nor Church, nor Claiborne. Now we are headed for the cellar with a bunch of rookies on defense and scrub vets minus Sean lee.
Steven wants his inheritance so he' tightening Jerry's wallet.

Until the captain will go down with the ship, no one truly has the wheel.

An article one time (years ago and can't find it) best captured it...it asked, "Who is awake at 2:00am worrying about the roster?" It alludes to accountability, which without it, complacency invades.

For this organization, there is no immediate consequences of not turning every stone to find the next great off-season signing. Sure, the owners might 'eventually' feel the pain from the non-results. However, in Dallas, they have the luxury of strong ratings and attendance and paraphernalia sales as long as they remain "relevant". That continues to be their effective measuring stick. They can say differently, and they may even believe differently, but until they delegate the responsibility to someone who will perform as if their job is on the line, this team will only go as far as high ROI% draft choices, grapevine recommendations, and luck can take them.

Elliot was a near-guarantee for ROI.
Prescott was luck.

Garrett deserves a lot of criticism, but it was not until he got a direct line to Jerry that the team actually started to have any semblance of a plan. The ONLY unit that has been built with vision and homework has been the offensive line. Like him as a coach or don't, but otherwise this team has been built by rumors, shiny objects, squeaky wheels and miracles.

Its always an extreme with this team. Because they sucked at free agency they have declared free agency bad.
These guys were never a lock to help us.

Neither was our bad boy we signed from Carolina.

Neither was Thornton.from the Iggles.

It most obvious Dallas is not going to go FA to improve this team.

I agree with this.

Which means we need another draft or two to improve.

Which means if we are going to lose..

It might be better if we slide and bank draft choices.

Look what last years draft did for us.

I think Zeke needs to get the suspension served.

We can just consider him as injured and get him in back before seasons end.

If there is anything to play for then..

we can see what happens.

I do not think we are good enough without Zeker.

I wish we could all contribute to Zeker's defense fund.

It would be interesting for a show of hands to do that.

We could protest that way.

Zeker could donate the money to a charity like they did the Salvation Army Kettle thing.

Yeah that's the great 9 year plan...efficient. Free Agency is a tool that good teams know how to use. You named bad signings. Again because they've sucked at it, means they should get better at it, not exclude it as a tool to improve.

Remember when the Eagles signed every top free agent, changed coaches, cut everyone, traded their starting QB, traded up to draft a new QB, fixed their cap overnight, built a competent team, and now have the best record in the NFL?
It’s called having a GM that’s worth a crap.

They do, we don’t.........simple as that

How long has Jason Garrett been the coach? That's how long we have been rebuilding, and now we need 2-3 more years to complete the rebuilding process?
