While Dez Bryant, another former Oklahoma State wideout, is regarded as one of the ten best receivers in the National Football League, he doesn’t possess the speed similar to the likes of Odell Beckham Jr., Antonio Brown, or Julio Jones. Developing a deep threat across the field from Dez would take this offense to an entirely different level. Secondaries would be wary of doubling Dez, it would be more of a challenge to play bracket coverage on Beasely and spy Dak, and it would be another reason not to stack the box against Zeke and company.

Would Dallas draft a receiver in round one next April? Obviously we have ways to go, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea. As mentioned above, the addition of a deep threat would open lots of things for Dak Prescott, Zeke, and company. CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso agrees — though, he goes with a different wideout:

I've been talking about him for over a year now. Pure speed. But he has great hands too. Not sure how diverse his routes are but will beat you deep and push back the defense

What he runs in the 40 will do wonders for his draft stock

He looks VERY short...he definitely isn't 6'1" like he's listed. Probably 5'10" or even 5'9"

I think a good player comparison would be Lee Evans

He's a lot like Golden Tate, but he doesn't have as much dawg in him as Tate does.

D.J. Chark, WR, LSU

School: LSU Position: Wide Receiver Class: Senior Height: 6-2 Weight: 185 lbs Projected Draft Round: 4-7

Scouting Report:

A “take the top off of the defense” type wide receiver, with the speed and the pass catching ability to back up the threat. Lightening quick, he has the ability to force the secondary to spread out and account for the go-route. Will go over the middle and doesn’t get alligator arms, but still could work to add some bulk to his frame so that it won’t cost him at the next level.

Jester Weah, Wide Receiver, Pittsburgh

School: Pittshburgh Position: Wide Receiver Class: Senior Height: 6-3 Weight: 205 lbs Projected Draft Round: 4-7

Scouting Report:

A big play, vertical threat, with experience in a pro style system. Sprinter speed, with a big frame that he uses well to box out defenders. Fights for contested balls, and is able to snatch passes at the highest point and with good strength

Michael Gallup, WR, Colorado State

School: Colorado State Position: Wide Receiver Class: Senior Height: 6-1 Weight: 195 lbs Projected Draft Round: 4-7

Has a instinctive ability to get open, and to operate in space. An excellent “yards after catch” type receiver, particularly well suited for West coast offensives. Very agile with good hands. Will need to continue to work on both his route running and making separation at the point of the catch.

Deon Cain, WR, Clemson

School: Clemson Position: Wide Receiver Class: Junior Height: 6-1 Weight: 210 lbs Projected Draft Round: 1-3

Scouting Report:

Has a rare ability to generate YAC, and an ideal fit for many of the West Coast Offenses in the NFL that work to isolate a receiver, allowing him to catch the ball in stride and make a big play. Cain had an excellent championship game performance, but will need to showcase his talent now that his star QB and WR not on the team
