The dumbest thing about this whole thing, is that this was all completely and easily avoidable.

If the NFL would just appoint an ACTUAL INDEPENDENT arbitrator to hear all appeals, than it would be fair for everyone.

Instead Goodell wanted to maintain absolute power over everything. Like a moron.

What did you expect from a sleazy lawyer?

Nobody discussing how the nfl is reportedly trying to reach a settlement?

Jon machota

Sources: Ezekiel Elliott's team, NFL have discussed the possibility of a settlement p.d-news.co/lqez via @DavidMooreDMN

This is way past the settlement stage. So Zeke settles/admits to being a wife beater??? Not a chance...

That would be the dumbest thing he could do.

Unless they take the DV charge off the shelf I don't know what they have to negotiate.

1 game for there just being an incident but you don’t have a strike against you

My guess is something like that. Zeke wouldn’t listen if it remains the nfl saying he committed domestic violence

I mean they can reduce the sentence but I don't get why Zeke would accept it. The 6 games shouldn't be the main thing to him. It should be the DV charge and the chance that he will be banned from the NFL if another accusation happens.

Zeke openly said he needs to make better choices

1 game + no strike against you for domestic abuse.

I don't see a settlement happening. The league goofed the moment they decided to disregard Mrs. Robert's expert recommendation and brand Zeke a domestic abuser without credible evidence, now it's all or nothing.

Yea if that was offered I'd think he'd take it. The only way that would be offered though is if Goodell thinks he has a big chance to lose. That would really be a shock because the way Goodell has run this he acts like he's God.

If this is true then my guess is the nfl realized they may lose and goodells abuse of power may have been exposed. They wanna avoid this at all costs

They know they screwed up

Maybe this proposed settlement is part of a larger bargain between Jerry and the NFL. Jerry was reportedly the lone dissenter among the owners regarding that topic which cannot be discussed. Perhaps in exchange for going along with the league on that topic, he's getting the draft in Dallas and the Zeke's suspension drastically reduced if not outright eliminated (maybe Zeke goes to counseling). And the league retracts it's domestic violence charge against Zeke.

The settlement could be : NFL takes he’s a woman beater off the shelf and gives him 2 games for conduct detrimental like lifting shirt, suspicion in current case and bar fight.

Honestly I know people hate Brady and Pats but there were a line on experts from East to West Coast that said the NFL theory on deflategate was bad.

The league works from guilt backwards and that’s the issue

And Goodell gets his extension.

The misconception is what some consider well "known." But again this isn't the place for that discussion.

The analysis you suggest is suspect as well. Even if there was a split, and if it happened to align with who appointed them, it does not suggest that the groups favor certain plaintiffs over others. It could suggest one side is more inclined to rule based on law (as is their job), and the other based on what they want. Or it could be that there is no split at all.

All of the judges so far have not been ruling on the same legal issues either.
You’re allowed to believe whatever you’d like.

Danial Wallach, legal analyst, said what I expected. Judges appointed by the “rule on what you want” party(as you say) are much much more likely to rule in favor of Elliott.

When it gets the the appeal the 3 judges chosen are the key. He said if he gets the two that ruled against Brady(one was from each of your groups)in his case or other judges appointed by “the rule of law” party(as you say)it will not go his way.

Again, this was predictable and known by me. I guess you’re saying not you. I’m sorry of assuming and using the word known. Omit that from the records if you’d like.

Reportedly? What reports? I'd like to read those.

Go to the NFL page of Yahoo sports.
That article has no evidence of its claims other than speculation based on Jones' lack of communication and some of the other owners saying "most of the owners agree." It's possible that Jones is the lone resistor, but the author seems to make certain statements based on his own assumptions.
