I just don't understand why Chaz Green is still the starter at LG

I guess I'm the only one that doesn't hate Chaz Green.

He's a good tackle and a solid guard. He just can't stay healthy.

The problem is that our best left guard is playing Right tackle and our best right tackle is playing left guard.

I mean....this isn't true at all.

You don't have to look far for an example....see Romo, Tony

Jourdan Lewis took a job this year. Xavier Woods is earning snaps. And we let multiple starters go in FA to replace them with players already on the roster this offseason. That's another complaint without basis in reality.

You're not the only one. I'm just tired of fighting over small potatoes. Green is the best option at swing tackle. As long as Smith is iffy, that's where he's going to stay.

And he won't address my post or yours.

I still don't see why they let Leary go. Top 3 OL and they let a key piece of that leave. Brilliant. They hung their hat on a dude that loves being injured.

Because he still has a degenerative knee condition, and most would say that it wouldn't be prudent to pay top dollar for damaged goods.

He might be able to play out his current expensive contract, but the odds are against it.

Green's lack of reliability is a big reason why that is in the first place. If he were able to be depended on, you would probably see him at right tackle.

But he is not, and RT is more crucial, so there you go.

People have been saying his knee would fall off since he came into the league. Has not happened yet.

Chaz Green is a player that needs to be let go. He's the epitome of a tease and teases are what they are: a tease, never a full fruition.

This coaching staff needs to gain another level of stratagem both short and long term.
You’re too logical sometimes...that needs to stop!?!

Would be nice to preserve Chaz as a back up tackle anyhow. Tyrones back and all.

So you're saying Dallas should wait for a championship?

I'm not caring if his knee goes out in 4-5 years. Regressing on the OL is a huge mistake.

Every time Dallas gets close, they do something to screw it up.

If his knee went out this year after a huge contract, the Zone rueage would be unbearable.
Not to mention, that huge contract would create cap crunches in other areas of need, like the D.

No one can afford all-pros at every position and stay under the cap.

The diehards will disagree but this offseason really was just a huge miss by the front office. They seemed to have cushioned a complete tumble into the abyss by having drafted Lewis, Awuzie and Woods, who appear to all be capable of playing. But they whiffed on Heath. They whiffed on Green at LG and LG in general. They whiffed on Carroll. They knew they had some depth issues at LB and did nothing. They knew they had some issues at the 1 tech and are biting on it now.

Just a really disappointing offseason from a team that went 13-3 and was likely one Byron Jones knocked pass from maybe winning in OT and making the NFC Title game.

Cheapness and stupidity ruled the offseason.
Hard to argue with that

Once again the zone shows it's lack of true football IQ...Watch Cooper...By far the better option...and just keeps getting better. A 2nd level monster....that is destroying unsuspecting LBers. People need to start giving this guy credit. I figure by seasons end...people will wonder how will we ever be able to afford to resign this guy. ;)

If you'd really like to see someone who fits that description, all you need do is take a good look in the mirror. Anyone who thinks Kellen Moore is the cat's meow at QB doesn't know Jack from Jill. Cooper isn't nearly as bad as Moore at guard, yet he still falls short of what it takes to be a starter. There's a reason why he'd been rejected by several teams before coming to Dallas. He just isn't what he once was in college.

and he is nowhere near as bad as you want him to be.

Guess again. No C'boys fan wants him to be bad and he isn't. He just isn't starter material. Otherwise, the likes of Green wouldn't be beating him out at LG. If you think he's all that at LG, you haven't been paying attention. Don't be surprised when we draft a LG prospect next year. Our pass pro and run blocking have both taken a big step down this year and the play at LG is one reason why.
