John Russell who was in Lawman was pretty good in his heyday, he was also in Josey Wales and Pale Rider among countless others.


Also like Alias Smith and Jones even though It was a bit light hearted.

I think The Outlaw Josey Wales had more great one liners then any other movie I can think of.


Back in the day my buds and i tried to count all the people Wales killed in that movie, i forget the number, but it was really high.. :)

They say he killed 55 in the movie and then gutted Captain Redlegs with his own sword

So he offed 56 officially


In Commando Arnold killed 102. But then he had machine guns and fully automatic weapons so its really not fair.

While technically not a Western, I think Quigley Down Under was awesome.

But the Duke was the greatest.
Quigley qualifies as we did not specify it had to be American Western. It was very good. Not sure I would put it in the top 10 all time though

I like most of the westerns listed but kind of surprised Cowboys wasn't on anyone's list..........that was a classic.

It's also the movie where Dern Killed Wayne.
