Denver = Not the same team we played. Nor was the game in Denver.

Nor was the game even close. And never forget the Cowboys made the guy the Broncos benched look like John Elway in that game. But some folks don't want to ask the tough question, why?

Chiefs beat Iggles. We beat the Chiefs.

Very true. A great sign, hopefully of things to come.

You said it was free.

Sure, do what you need to do.

Philly got lucky that Bridgewater went down with a season ending injury otherwise the Vikings wouldn't have been so desperate to give up so much for Bradford as a QB and Philly couldn't have somewhat recouped what they lost for Wentz.

No doubt that it was a huge bit of good fortune for Philadelphia. And given the fact that Bradford and his knee now look shot, it's yet another smart move they made to get out of past failure.

LOL .......for my money? Give me Dak ( only cost a 4th) and draft picks. Not to mention Dak can do little more with his legs and feet........

Eagles cleaned up Chip Kelly’s mess in a hurry, and other Week Nine thoughts

It wasn’t even two years ago that the Eagles fired Chip Kelly, an alleged offensive guru who had saddled them with a bunch of overpaid and underperforming offensive players. It’s remarkable how quickly they’ve cleaned up his mess.

Philadelphia, which put up 51 points on a very good Denver defense on Sunday, is now 8-1 and the best team in the NFL. That’s mostly due to its stellar offense, and what’s remarkable about that offense is how completely it has been rebuilt since the departure of Kelly, who spent three years as the Eagles’ coach and also had final say over personnel in his final year. Bad personnel moves can put a team in a salary cap hole that takes a long time to dig out of, but Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman and coach Doug Pederson have done it quickly.

The big move, of course, was at quarterback. Not everyone was sold on Carson Wentz coming out of North Dakota State last year, but the Eagles were. They traded two of Kelly’s favorite defensive players, Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwell, to move up in the first round of the draft, then traded that first-round pick, another first-round pick, a second-round pick and a third-round pick to Cleveland to get the second overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft. That’s the pick they used to get Wentz.
It will definitely hurt Philly come draft time, but the price to acquire a franchise QB is never too steep.

Sometimes you need some luck. We got lucky with Dak. Our trade for Lynch fell through and the Raiders stupidly took Connor Cook before us.

I don't want to look past Atlanta but I am curious to see this defense against the Eagles O that is completely on fire right now.

I wish we could get Awuzie back for more depth at DB.

Yeah what's up with Awuzie anyway? Even Miles Austin is like C'mon, bro.

Since Iggles somehow got a No.1 (Barnett) and No.4 (Ajayi) for Bradford, it was not as lopsided as it had looked.

Joking aside, I think they screwed up rushing him back. This franchise seems to have troubles figuring out how to deal with hamstrings.

They should have benched Awuzie from the start and he'd likely be back by now. But I think they were so desperate for secondary help after it was clear Carroll sucked and Heath was struggling that they tried to get him back on the field as soon as possible.

These are different kinds of luck. One was out of the blue and completely unrelated to the trade of draft picks to select a QB. The other actually had to do with the draft and happens every year for nearly every team.

You can't "remove" what Philly gave up for something that happened well after the fact and isn't related to the draft at all.

Luck is luck.

If you want to try to make it seem like our "luck" was not as lucky, have at it. But the fact is we got lucky we have Dak. It's really that simple.

LOL.

The best pet of this whole Wentz thing is watching some of you lose your poop and fly off the handle constantly every time his name is mentioned.

It's downright priceless.
See this a prime example of your trolling on here. Why do enjoy trolling a fellow Cowboy's fan? You can disagree with his takes, but your endless parroting of the Eagles are awesome and the Cowboys mistakes in free agency is getting old now. This team is on a 3 game winning streak, but yet you still feel the need to point out the Cowboy's free agency misses. think I need to start calling you Polly.

"Luck is luck" only when you want to make a claim that they're the same types of luck, which they're not, and that's the point. It's like you ignored everything I previously wrote.

Players fall in the draft all the time. Trades happen in the draft happen all the time. The Cowboys actually brought in Dak to be interviewed, so he existed as a potential QB on their radar.

Season-ending injuries to starting QBs that happen to a possible SB contender several months after the fact and have nothing to do with the draft don't allow you to "recoup" draft picks that have nothing to do with the draft. That is a non-sequitur. That is not even "making your own luck". That is simply having it handed to you on a silver platter.

It's only trolling because some of you are so sensitive and feel like you are being trolled. I mean how hard is it to ignore a thread that talks about the Eagles or Wentz? Every single day there are threads on this board created that I don't read because they don't interest me, etc.

But being the weakminded person you appear to be, you seem to actively look for threads like this and enter a NFL game thread just to complain about Cowboys fans giving credit to a rival.

And yes, the FO screwed up this offseason. You can continue to delude yourself but when your top three FAs are no longer on the team by the end of October, that's a pretty big failure. We are staring up at the Eagles and right now sit in the last WC spot. That's not where we should be if the FO did a better job this offseason.

Yeah, the Cowboys brought in Dak for an interview but then tried to trade up for Lynch and were prepared to take Cook over Dak before the Raiders plucked him right before us.

We didn't "make our own luck" on Dak.

Yep. That's the reality of the NFL draft. Teams often get a bit lucky.

You struggle to admit what is reality with Dak because I guess you view it as criticism of the FO. It's really not. It's just acknowledging that we had some really good fortune that our trade for Lynch was rejected and Cook was taken before we could draft him.
