According to a lot of fans a few weeks ago, Zeke is a fat slob and over rated.
You mean 2 months ago when he started off the season out of shape? Welcome to November. September was not a fun month!

Zeke takes a bit to get going. No doubt about it.

He gets stronger and stronger as the season wears on. He was the same way in college.

Unless a suspension derails him of
Course.

Zeke is a game changer. Zeke gets yards after contact. Morris, a serviceable back, does not. That is the difference. I saw another couple holes open that Zeke would have popped but Morris doesn't have it. Zeke is an MVP caliber player by himself. With Zeke, Dak is an MVP caliber player.

Morris isn't serviceable.

so romo didn't have 3 back to back 8 and 8 seasons? We're 5 and 5, which is on par for an 8 and 8 season.

Don't be dense. Romo was going 8-8 with an oline made up of trashcans. Soon as we got the big trio in 2014 you saw exactly how good Romo was. Dak wouldn't have been able to pray his way to 8-8 behind those lines and lack of running game Romo dealt with back then

It’s bad roster management. Zeke is amazing. He is a top 3 rb in the nfl along with Leveon and David Johnson.

But the thing you have to consider is the drop off. There is a legit chance that Alfred Morris, Rod Smith, and Darren McFadden would all be unemployed.

It’s the same ****in story at LT and linebacker.

The lack of drafting success after the first round combined with an inability and unwillingness to do anything in free agency is pathetic.

Look at Jernigan with the eagles. They acquired him just by moving down in the 3rd round and he’s a run stuffing stud. And we have a huge hole there and signed a guy that retired.

More importantly half of this board wanted Jerinigan. Rod didn't because he didn't fit what he wanted to do. You can't build a system based on a generational talent and then always be looking for a generational talent to plug in because they are like unicorns.

This o line just gave up 8 sacks last game. He was getting hit several times tonight as well. Frederick and Martin are great, but the other guys on the O-line are mediocre right now. Romo would have been in the hospital after these last two games. Romo was a great QB, but it's pure fantasy to think he would be lighting it up with Tyron Smith out and Zeke out.

Dak's fine. He's still a nice young QB we lucked into as late in the draft as we found him.

But our offense has to stick to the running game much, much more resiliently. It's not Zeke in particular, it's the running game in general. McFadden walked in off the street as an unwanted free agent and was 4th highest rusher in the league in our offense in a season when our offense was missing Romo and, for half the year, Dez. Morris was an unwanted guy in this league, and he does just fine when we call a bunch of running plays for him.

It doesn't take any magic spell or special elixir. It takes calling running plays in the booth and not audibling into passing plays at the line of scrimmage except in very special circumstances. Do that, and the run game does its job and the offense is so much harder to defend.

Call unnecessary passing plays too often, and bad things happen and our defense spends more time on the field and we fall behind and force ourselves into passing even more. Drives stall, and unnecessary interceptions start to happen. And almost never needs to happen, except for that our team is too enamored with the passing game and too quick to jump on any excuse not to run.

Just run it more. It isn't that hard. And you don't have to have Elliott to do it.

Dez isn't a necessary cog. He is expendable. He does nothing for this team really. He just seems to because he historically gets damn near all the goal line targets.

We should probably move Collins back to OG where he was dominant and draft a true RT this year or go buy one. Keep Cooper as the primary guard backup. Pay him and keep him.

Tyron Smith.

It’s sad that Jason Garrett has let it come to this.

How is it fantasy when we freaking saw it happen with our own eyes?? Stop being a prisoner of the moment. Romo was playing behind Free Livings Costa Bernadeau and Smith. And still lighting teams up, losing because our defense was giving up 30+ points. Dak has put up freaking 7 and 9 in concurrent weeks missing behind Green/Bell Cooper Frederick Martin Collins. Stop that nonsense.

Keep Dak and invest in better defensive personnel and coaches.

0-2 without zeke...
Read the post again. Dak is 0-2 without an elite running game and has scored only one touchdown in two games..

And without Tyron Smith, and without Sean Lee. got sacked 8 times last game and got hit several times this game and was under pressure all game long. This clearly is not last year's or 2014's o line.

Defense continues to be the problem. It becomes even more apparent when the offense is short-handed and can't put up 30 of their own.

But it starts with the defense. It's not good enough. Hasn't been for years.

Don’t put this only on the defense. When your offense consistently goes 3 and out, and you keep putting the defense out there, they’re eventually going to cave.

Coaching is the issue.

On offense it’s run on first, run on second, throw on third and long. It’s the same plays over and over.

On defense, it’s that stupid Tampa 2 which worked like 15 years ago. The corners play 10 yards off the receivers and they concede 5 yards on first down.

The only fix is new coaches.

Zeke all day, at this point. You can get further with Zeke with a good line than Dak with no Zeke.

Not upset now, but will be when Jerry gives Dak a “Dez” contract that overpays him threefold.

Coming from a recovering “Dak addict.”

We struggled to beat Philly in Dallas last year with both guys playing. They beat us easily in Philly i. Week 17 when we phoned it in.

They are better right now.

This is Zeke's team. I hate saying it, but it just is.
It's Zeke's team based on how the coaching staff has built the team and scheme. We are a run first team. We don't throw the ball deep since Dak isn't a very accurate deep passer and we don't have receivers that are deep route threats. All of our receivers are possession receivers. If the OL doesn't dominate, we can't win. We have made it easy for defenses to beat us. Time for a coaching and scheme change while we have a very young core of players.
