Well and the other owners keep Jerry out of the league and he has to sell the team we get a new GM a new owner and new coaches that would be great. Look at how Philadelphia has rebuilt in just two years with the real GM but we have Jerry and Steven and these guys have been trying for 20 years and can't get it done and they won't ever.

You have said that repeadly.

Garrett smiling...he knows that anytime they miss the playoffs, he'll have an excuse.

Honestly, how much worse could it get? We would at least get two new coordinators and schemes out of it. The offense needs retooled completely and the defense needs some better players and a coach.

The problem is, JG will not allow a new offensive scheme. That's one of the reasons we let Callahan go because he was a WC offense guy. JG wants to keep his crappy scheme and only hire someone who will use his scheme and not change it much.

I thought this was based on the premise of Garrett being fired? If he can still insist on his scheme being used even when out of Dallas, his voodoo spell is more powerful than I thought :lmao:

My bad. I thought you were talking about just getting new coordinators to solve our coaching issues.

Throw in the 2015 NFL draft for the Cowboys.. It's one of the worst... They can not properly evaluate talent at any level...

1 27 Byron Jones CB Connecticut
2 60 Randy Gregory DE Nebraska
3 91 Chaz Green OT Florida
4 127 Damien Wilson LB Minnesota
5 163 Ryan Russell DE Purdue
7 236 Mark Nzeocha LB Wyoming
7 243 Laurence Gibson OT Virginia Tech
7 246 Geoff Swaim TE Texas
https://cowboyszone.com/threads/looking-back-on-the-2015-draft-hurts.368826/

atrocious draft and it didn't have to be. superior players AT THE SAME POSITION were drafted literally a couple picks after Jones and Gregory.

like you said there is a huge problem in the scouting department. they can't evaluate defensive players.

When they showed JG clapping on the sidelines during a game Romo was announcing: (paraphrasing) some guys are about Xs and Os and strategizing the game plan and some guys are about motivating and having their players play hard for them.

Said all this as the camera was on Garrett clapping. Tone was clearly that JG is the latter.
Damn

When I saw Garrett smiling right before kickoff I knew we would lose the game.

Something is seriously wrong with that man
Of course he’s smiling. He’s a top 5 paid head coach without top 5 results. He also has Cowboy fans support from a certain demographic of cowboy fans who love him because his politician speech reminds them of their daddy. I’d smile too

I dug this out post out I did from 2010 . . . . I was against Garrett being a coach back then, I was against him when he got the job, and I’m still against him now. To me Dallas wasted 8 years giving Garrett “on the job training.”. I didn’t think he should have gotten the HC job to begin with since he was part of the Wade Phillips 1-7 disaster. Garrett wasted chances with some excellent players.

Garrett got the players he wanted. He got the coaches he wanted (and most of those ex-head coach retreads stink too). Garrett pretty much got whatever he wanted.

Garrett just does not have it. He never did. He’s not HC material.

Unfortunately Jerry’s ego will not allow him to do the right thing and let him go. Just like Jerry won’t let go of his GM ego and bring in someone who can elevate this franchise. it’s really sad to watch . . . The definition of insanity is continuing to do the same thing over and over again yet expecting different results. The Dallas Cowboy organization is pure loco!

I hope Jerry proves me wrong, but experience tells me he won’t . . .

I consider myself to be a low poster, and I have more posts than you. But I'm gong to speak my peace on this and be done with it.

I have always been against Garrett being HC here. All of this he'll be Bellicheck, Payton, Lombardi, Walsh in 5 years is all talk. He is what he is. A learn on the job young HC with little experience. These guys had more experience coaching than Garrett when he started. The comparisons are just dumb.

But if Jerry goes out, interviews even just 3 guys, and he comes to the conlusion that Garrett is the man for the job, then great. Hand him the keys. My argurment is not with him being HC. My arguement is the process in which he is being elevated. Some here think that the guy coaches in 8 games and he should be anointed and made a bust for Canton. The guy went 4-3 probably 4-4 after today and was the assisant to the 1-7 mess in the first half of the season. That is not justification to just hand him the job. He should be part of the consideration, and if he ends up on top, then great. But if Jones did what every outlet is posting, then this move is dumb. From what we know Jerry brought no one in, and the Ray Sherman interview is just window dressing.

Time will tell, so I won't say he'll be a failure or the next Lombardi. But from what I see here, the process is very flawed and dysfuncational if Garrett was just handed the job without going through due process. And that's my biggest problem with the sitution.

I am done with it . . . I am going back to work . . .

Getting steamrolled 3 times in a span of 11 days on national tv might be the slap on the head Jerry needs to realize this coaching staff is a mess.

Thursday's game is going to be interesting

So you’re happy with 8-8?

Dunno whether to laugh or be sad.
It is the culture the Owner has created. How he was able to pull it off is pure genius. But that is who Jerry is. Make people believe something that is actually not true. This organization has not come CLOSE to winning since Jimmy Johnson influence has left the building...but the way we make money and stay relevant...you would think we are perennial contenders. When you have a new stadium to build, a new practice facility to build, sushi to sell, panties to sell, craft beer to sell, fine art to put on display...you have to find a way to sell it. And to be able to sell all of this WITHOUT having to win football games...Jerry should write a book. I really would love to go inside the minds of fans to understand what they see when they watch this team over the past 20 years. Maybe they just started following the team in the past 10 yeas. But for those that have been fans since the 70s....we know a fraud when we see one. And I have REFUSED to set foot in that new stadium until we are being run like a professional football organization. Don't have to win every year. Don't have to be contenders every year. But we need to operate like a PROFESSIONAL football organization. But with all the sacred cows, puppets, Jerry giving Will McClay everything but the title of GM....that proves we are still a circus.

If it's the team than he will fire Garrett before this season ends.

But, his ego is why Garrett is still around. Jerry just doesn't like to admit that he is wrong. And that is the reason why we only have 2 playoff wins in over ten seasons.

I can admit that Dak played awful tonight, but what young QB is going to be good enough to overcome Garrett?
Over 20....people need to REALIZE how bad it really has been. Parcells had zero...Wade had 1...Garrett has 1. Cannot even remember who was the coach before Parcells. I know Campo had zero. Chan Gailey had zero.
