You mean the five straight games the Dallas offense had 3, 2, 2, 4, 4 TOs respectively while in one of those games Dallas defense generated 5 TOs against the Giants and held the Vikings to under 200 yards of total offense and still lost?

Maybe they quit on Jason, you know like when Matt Schaub was throwing pick sixes regularly for weeks in a row when Wade was DC for the Texans.. maybe they saw no point, because Jerry wasn’t going to do anything to get Garrett gone.. maybe Wade himself after all was said and done says ****, I’m not dealing with this garbage anymore..

Dallas was winning the giants game until Romo was hurt. And then kit a was pathetic.

The Vikings game Romo hit Austin for what should have been the game winner and the Vikings went right back down the field and won if i remember correctly

Wade Phillips was 34-22 as coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

He had one terrible year but was always above .500 each of his three previous years.

Jason Garrett has never had back to back years above .500.

In 7 years as head coach has only gone to the playoffs twice and is 1-2 in playoff games...

Stunned that Jason Garrett is still the head coach and I'm stunned that he still has apologist out there. His win percentage is much lower than Wade Phillips'. And while he has the same playoff record as Garrett, he won as many division titles as Garret in half the time.
It was his bad dancing and the waaaay overdone hands to the forehead on the sidelines.
That bag of fat never looked HC-like. I think even Jerry got disgusted with Wade Fillups obsequience and his aw shucks demeanor.

he didn't end quickly. the process started earlier. he started to lose players in pre-season. each game we saw him lose more players. players not sticking to their assignments. being frustrated. taking it onto themselves to do everything and things got worse. and against GB, it all came to a peak......

I am seeing signs of the players quitting on this team....small, but its there......it snow balls....

also, you could see it in coaches eyes. they seemed frustrated. no energy. and their eyes were tell-tale signs... that they didn't know what to do and just wanted it to end.

Is this a serious question? Wade was hired as a stop gap until Jerry was ready to promote Jason.

Going into the 2009 season, we had the expectations on going to the Super Bowl. Instead we went 1-7.

That's why.

LOL, you really need to get out more Roy.

There had been articles written about it and at least one former player talking about it. And FYI..........I have received over 20 likes and counting on that comment. But by all means continue to turn the blind eye.

I will absolutely agree with you that the offense was not doing that team any favors. And to clarify, I am not a JG believer at all. I think he is an average coach at best with zero ability to game-plan around his team's deficiencies or be the difference when the talent on the field is evenly matched. He can win with superior talent and lots of clapping, but will always be outclassed when facing an upper echelon coach.

But, they went 5-3 under Garrett after Wade left, so no way can I give Wade a pass. He cashed Jerry's paychecks just fine as the HC and if he wanted to hide behind only being able to handle the defense then he could have at least fielded a top ten one instead of bottom third that got worse each game until they just quit. When you have five straight losses including two teams that are running last in their Division, a career day for David Garrard and a so-so Jaguars squad followed up by a complete dismantling on National TV to what was at that time a .500 Packers squad then how could anyone justify Wade staying?

Wow, I never heard that. What a ******.

Cant believe some of you guys didnt know this.

https://thelandryhat.com/2014/03/10...ett-sabotaged-wade-phillips-tricked-everyone/

When asked if he believed Garrett held back his offense that season, Crayton replied:

“He tricked the hell out of everybody.”

In the interview, Holley described a situation where it appears that Garrett, then offensive coordinator for Dallas. allegedly tanked part of the 2010 NFL season in order to get Phillips fired as head coach of the Cowboys:

“When we came out of the preseason and we began the season…we looked around the room. We’re saying: ‘why are we still running the stuff that we were running in preseason in week one?’ And it continued throughout the season. And you can look at the offensive production. There were times I’d be standing on the sidelines and the defenders would be literally calling out our routes. And it wasn’t like they were guessing. There were times when the DB’s would literally back-off and go to where we would be going.”

That season, the Cowboys started the year 1-7. In that same span, the offense averaged 20.1 points per game. After Garrett took over as head coach in Week 10, the Dallas offense averaged 29.1 points per game and finished the season going 5-3. Holley went on to explain that Garrett handed out new offensive playbooks in a team meeting right after it was announced Phillips was fired.

“Literally, we looked around the room asking: ‘What is this?…we had whole new plays. We were going downfield. We were taking more chances…we were like ‘whoa’, where was this?..It was different, it was more explosive. The things that we wanted to do all year, we got a chance to do…The next game we scored like 40 points.”

While this is partially true it makes it seem like Garrett can turn it on and off at will.

They went 5-3 because the defense then proceeded to generate 30 plus TOs.. Garrett had no control over that and Kitna still threw more INTs than TDs, while Dallas ran more. They only really beat bums.

The season was over at that point other than Jerry going off on the defensive players and threatening their jobs.

Our offense turned the ball over four times against the Jaguars.. Dallas only scored 3 points until the fourth, where they scored two TDs.. Garrett was absolutely awful between quarters two and three with three and outs during that season.

The Jaguars also went 8-4 to close the season, starting with a win a game before the Cowboys..

The Vikings game Romo hit Austin for what should have been the game winner and the Vikings went right back down the field and won if i remember correctly

One of their TDs in the second half was a special teams return by Percy Harvin..

Our first two drives of the second half were basically three and outs, the drives being a total of like thirty seconds each. We scored on a TD making it 21 to tie the game and the last drive was another 3 and out.

We couldn’t sustain and drives to keep the defense off the field.

Minnesota’s first TD was an INT off Romo in Dallas territory with 16 yards for a TD.

Romo wasn’t even involved in offensive game planning then. Our success was in hurry-up, definitely not Garrett’s game planning..

I am sorry but Wade sucks as a head coach and should of been canned earlier than he was. Wade is a plus defensive coordinator and a good guy off the field but as a head coach he just plain sucks goat huevos.

I agree but it doesn't mean Garrett didn't undermine him though.

I think fans and a few players have the opinion that Garrett undermined Wade but I don't subscribe to that theory. I think Wade was in over his head before that season started and by the mid point it was painfully obvious that a change needed to be made. If anything I would say that Wade made a deal with the proverbial devil to seek a coveted position and got burned in the process.
