AC/DC please. Zoe's influence on music was greater, but other bands took over and watered down what was unique about them. AC/DC is just balls-to-the-wall good. And they also don't ever sing songs about "Gollum."

I like Gollum and love Tolkien in our history books as well, and all the inklings for that matter, hope i spelled his name right. CS LEWIS is somewhat of a dead mentor to me. Tread lightly. lol j/k. Happy Thanksgiving Idgit!

So you must hate the Rolling Stones? Their greatness live is in the inconsistency. Mick Taylor made that dynamic perfect for them, but he left and it's been lacking ever since.

I've actually never seen or even watched (say Youtube) the Stones live. Though I did have a concert shirt from their Steel Wheels tour, but my uncle bought it for me when they were in Houston.

That's my first concert ever, Shea Stadium Thursday Oct 28 1989. I'll never forget it.

I understand they are 2 different animals but if you are asking who was better its Zeppelin without question. Stuff like SIBLY, ALS, Kashmir and In the Light simply put them on a much higher plane. The only bands I would put up there with Zeppelin would be the Beatles{especially post Rubber Soul} and Rush.

I like everything you said, but i have little to no respect for the Beatles, i guess because i am a die hard Stones fan. Love Rush, Time stand still got me through some rough moments in my teenage life.

Zeppelin truly one of the best bands to come out of the sixties and seventies. Saw them at the Garden in 75. Not great performance but debut of Kashmir was amazing. They have an impressive catalogue.

Thank you, the closest opinion i got for live led zep is from my bro who saw Jimmy live at the garden benefit concert MSG 1981 i believe. He was in the first few rows of general admission.

I can understand about the Beatles and they really remind of 2 different bands. Pre Rubber Soul where they did the 2.5 min pop ditties and RS and afterwards they really started to branch out and grew individually and collectively. I was born in 64 and they were my favorite band until I discovered Zeppelin. I know this is subjective but there are several acts I would put right up there or a notch below. Alice Coopers original band{inception til Muscle of Love} was great. Thin Lizzys whole library of work was awesome, cant give Philip enough credit for being a very talented cat who had it all, looks, swagger, bassist, vocalist/frontman and more importantly the talent to back it up. The Stones are right up there as is Pink Floyd. And Rush wow, what a band. Love everything they have done especially Signals and before. Songs like Xanadu, La Villa Strangiato and A Farewell to Kings are true works of art. Also cant forget Van Halen, when there first album hit there was nothing that sounded like it. There was Disco, Punk/Alt, the established bands, your Journeys and what have you and then VH. There first 6 albums with Roth were great. Saw them in 79 and it was mind blowing.

Awesome!
The last time they were here in OKC was 77 and I wasn't allowed to go to concerts at 13 yrs of age. But have seen Plant several times solo, the Firm as well as Page/Plant in 98. All as expected were great.

This is ABSOLUTE GOLD! Gene is such a ****ing asshat that I love that Bon doesn't even know his name. I can think of a current figure I see in the same ****ing light and Gene.
I was guessing you would like that. :flagwave:
