I like it. I think we need Ragoud Smith from what I have found on him
I'd like higher drafted trenchman

Sign me up for anything that starts with Roquan Smith. I liked every previous post because they included Roquan.

Defensive tackle

Folorunso Fatukasi, Connecticut

Last year the UConn freak athlete turned high draft pick was second-rounder Obi Melifonwu (Raiders). This year, that player might be the just-as-awesomely named Foloronso Fatukasi. While watching Fatukasi, I first noticed how immovable he is. It was kind of astrange, actually. Big offensive linemen try to move him, and it's like his spikes have grown roots in the ground. He's a super-strong 6-4 and 315 pounds but is not solely a block-eater. He had eight tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks in 2015, and after a down year a season ago, he has three sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss in six games. The Huskies star defensive tackle moves very well and has lead pipes for arms.

One of my former players is a middle linebacker for UConn. The games I've been able to watch I didn't see much out of Fatukasi, although his size is definitely intriguing.

Safety

Justin Reid, Stanford

A brother of 49ers safety/linebacker Eric Reid, who went in the first round of the 2013 draft, this Stanford safety has enjoyed a breakout 2017 campaign. The Louisiana native had seven pass breakups and 55 tackles as a sophomore last year. He has reeled in five interceptions and already has 51 tackles in eight games this season. He could stay for his senior year in Palo Alto, but if he continues to play to the level he has shown he can, Reid could be a highly sought after for the 2018 draft in what looks like a shallow safety class.

From watching youtube highlights of Roquon Smith, I can't see what makes him a first round prospect.

Smith may not have the size for a prototypical linebacker, but he is perfect for the way the NFL is trending in today’s day and age. Offenses are now spreading defenses out, and it is now more important than ever for linebackers to be able to play in space. Smith can do that as good as anybody in this class. He showcases impressive pursuit, can tackle in space, and is more than willing to lay the wood when given the chance.

He possesses 4.5 speed, but just as important is his football intelligence. Teammate John Atkins calls Smiths’ football IQ “out of this world” — something that should catch the eyes of the Cowboys’ front office:

Added Atkins: “He’s got a football IQ out of this world. Roquan, he can make calls not only for the defensive front, but for the secondary too. That’s big for a linebacker who can communicate both ways. Some days he’s telling the safeties what to do.”

Smith is one of those football players who double as film junkies. During his downtime, whether it is between classes or after practice, he pulls up tape of the upcoming opponent.

Skill + speed + football intelligence? Count me in.

I like the first 3 and the 7th rounder. If I cant have DaRon Payne, Fatukasi is intriguing to say the least - good size, strong like bull and has rush moves ideal for what we need !
Good job Bodi !
Quick note, as you are way better at finding prospects than me. I said after last years draft and now he is playing lights out, we need someone like a Cooper Kupp. Great route runner, intelligent player. If we are picking in 4th round or later for a WR can you look for a few of those types so we can get to know some of them ?
Mahalo's brotha !

I don't see it, but I've only seen watched a couple of games.

Yes, he can't be moved, but he does not shed blocks quickly when RBs come right past him. His ability to move laterally seems very limited.
