- Tag Lawrence
- Sign Cooper to a fair, long term deal
- Tender Irving
- Resign Hitchens if he comes fairly cheap

In FA:

- Sign Bennie Logan or Poe, whomever is the fairer deal
- Sign Kenny Vaccaro or Ed Reid, whomever is the fairer deal
- Sign Tyler Eifert if he passes physical, to a short term deal.

Draft (based on Draftwire rankings) assuming Cowboys finish 9-7 and are picking 18th. First four rounds only (2 4th round Comp picks) :

1 - Rashaan Evans, LB, Alabama
2 - Deon Cain, WR, Clemson
3 - Deshon Elliott, S, Texas
4 - Adonis Alexander, CB/S, VTech
4(c) - Justin Jones, DT, NCSU
4(c) - Bo Scarborough, TB, Bama

They have to fix the interior DL and can't just assume the draft will yield that guy and give them immediate results. I was also not opposed to another edge player, but none seemed to grab me at the spot we were picking. Evans is a killer in the middle. Hitchens backs him up. Lee is the WILL, with Smith backing him up. Your LB depth is suddenly much better.

Eifert is a risk reward guy depending on the price. Ravaged by injuries but his upside if healthy is a legit top level TE. Witten is basically at the end, you don't know what Gathers is. So I'd be out looking for a TE in free agency. Eifert is the smart bargain bin shopping - he at least has upside. Another name to look at for a pass catching threat at TE - Trey Burton. Not sure where he fits in the Eagles plans given they are smack up against the cap (actually over it for 2018 before any contract adjustments, etc.)

Although now that I look back........... not sure it makes sense to sign Vaccaro or Reid, both who might get long term deals and then draft Elliott.

What I would ideally like is take a kid like Elliott and let him learn for year behind a solid, one year vet starter. Not sure Heath is that guy.

Reading conflicting reports on DeShon Elliott. Most seem to feel he's a solid Day 2 guy (Round 2 or 3), but seen some buzz that NFL teams aren't impressed and think he's a Day 3 guy.

Of course, the one full game I watched of his was against my Trojans, and he was dominant.

What's the deal on Burnett, the WR from USC?

Is that the best insult you can come up with? So sad.

I know we really like Eric Reid in the draft.

Im having a hard figuring what I would rather see is draft in the first, an LB or WR. Im leaning towards WR, because we dont have top end talent there outside of Bryant. And Dez's effectivness has been waning and I dont see them keeping him after his contract is up

We actually didn't. We had a decent grade on him but we bailed out of the pick and traded down last second. 49ers took Reid and we ended up with Frederick and T. Williams. People will argue that we made out in that trade because the picks worked out, but we did not get enough value in trading down 14 spots in the 1st round. It was the Sharrif Floyd draft..scouts liked Floyd, coaches didn't.

Based on the draft ratings I used, there was no WR at that spot worthy of taking. So I took Evans who I think will be a stud.

If Ridley was available, I might consider him.
