Wow, if BB goes to NY. I really hope he doesn't.

We'd be fighting the Skins for bottoms dwellers in the NFCE.

if bellicheat goes to the giants we will be bottom feeders for sure. Also the 49 niners will be in contention in the west next year for the division and the wildcard shanahan and that young qb are going to turn the niners around really quick

"Belichick, having always subscribed to the philosophy that it's time to go once an owner gets involved in football decisions, left the impression with some friends that the current dynamic was unsustainable."

I guess that rules out Dallas! LOL

With Jerry craving the spotlight on issues from playcalling, injuries, personnel....this would be the very last place Belichick would ever coach. Everything about Jerry is what he doesn't allow with his staff and players.

It would truly be the sign of the Apocalypse if BB came here. Just no way.

Now as regards the situation in NE I would not be terribly surprised if Brady did go behind his back to get rid of JG. especially since JG does look like the real deal (at least now)
Brady has never impressed me personally and I think that is exactly the kind of weasle thing he would do. I think BB is the ultimate pragmatist and would have kept JG around and cut Brady in a year or two once the production started to drop.

Belichick was not thrilled that Kraft told him to get rid of Garoppolo.
Turned down some really great offers in the spring last year and then ended up basically giving him away to his friend's son, Shanahan, in San Francisco

Belichick isn't coming here unless JJ would put up ridiculous money for his services. That's what people always forget...everybody has a price when it comes to coaching.

Everybody.

I just don't see Jerry putting up the money.

The story doesn't seem quite right to me. However, I will say that when it comes to athletes and their bodies and health, that's when their personalities change and they'll vigorously defend their trainers. We've seen it with guys like David Boston, Barry Bonds, guys that would go to Marv Marinovich, etc.

I pretty much side with Belichick in this story. However, I'm a bit dismayed that they would allow Guerrero to be privy to injury and medical reports. He's not a doctor and he doesn't have to take the same oath towards privacy issues.

But, I don't see Belichick trading Jimmy G. unless he felt it was the right move. He knew Jimmy G. wasn't going to re-sign as long as Brady was there and that's why he traded him. And I think the issue is that Brady wants to play until he's 45 years old and history suggests that he will not do that and that when his play declines...it will decline very quickly and he doesn't want to be held hostage by a QB that refuses to retire or that contract that comes with it.

It’s not all that much of a stretch from when Bill Parcells came in. And you know Bill says good things about Jerry and Stephen and his ability to work with them.

It’s all just fun speculation anyway, since it won’t happen. But Dallas has a lot going for it right now in terms of cap and picks and rosters.

They said the same exact thing about Parcells.

Everybody has a price.

Parcells was in the middle of a very expensive divorce and needed the money. Jerry needed a new stadium built. This was a marriage of convenience only.

Belichek has more money than he can possibly spend. Money is not a motivator for him now, if it ever was.

Nowhere near the same situation.

Parcells didn't need the money. He was part of a hedge fund that was extremely successful and was making good money from ESPN and speaking engagements that were paying him $30k a pop. Then you had endorsements and Parcells could have always gotten a job working in a front office.

He wanted to coach. And we were told repeatedly that he would never coach for the Cowboys. He could have coached elsewhere and made good money as well. But in the end, for all of the hullabaloo...he came here.

If Belichick is offered $15 million/year to coach here....guess who will be wearing a cutoff Dallas Cowboys hoodie on the sidelines.

Interesting you say that, ESPN had an insider article, 26 bold predictions for the 2018 season and this was one of them
i

26. Bill Belichick will be the New York Giants' next head coach

The reason: Prediction No. 18 had Caserio and McDaniels bailing from New England before the kingdom fell. This prediction flips the script. Belichick becomes the first to leave, allowing the Patriots to continue with Caserio and McDaniels in charge. Belichick gets a new challenge with an organization that remains fond of him from his days as an assistant. The Giants get a coach uniquely equipped to handle whatever might come his way.

The caveat: Why would Belichick leave a championship operation for a floundering one? If he really wanted change, he could have his choice of jobs after Brady retires -- whenever that day comes

just retire man, the cowboy fans have endured enough the last 22 years

Maybe that's why the Giants haven't named a coach yet.

if mike francessa is right and I would think he is not. I heard him in his final shows talking about how Mara did not like belichick. Not sure what the reason he just said there was some things the mara's didnt like about belichick and its why they havent hired his assistants in ny either.
