Roquan Smith is easily the best player in the draft and it's a ******* disgrace we had to win a meaningless game in week 17 to knock ourselves out of position to draft him. I would trade our 2nd to pick in the top 10 for him. Best LB at the college level I have seen. Reminds me me Kuechly with speed.
Calm down.....he isn't big enough for the MIKE and no way the best college LB in the last generation

If he grows up a bit he might become Jaylon Smith

I like Edmunds, he has great size and speed and is versatile but he lacks instincts. If I were to go LB in the first and Roquan is gone I would go with Leighton Vander Esch from Boise State. He is just as big as Edmunds a little faster and has elite instincts. He has been steadily rising up draft boards and when he destroys the combine he should be a set in stone first round lock. sign me up if available at 19

Vander Esch is, at least right now, seen as anywhere from a 2nd to 4th round talent. I think you'd be reaching taking him at 19.

Wow he's 6'5" and can play MLB without being a liability in coverage? That's pretty rare, Urlacher is the only tall MLB I can remember playing the position.

Nfldraftscout.com has him as a first or mid second rounder and on fanspeak mock draft he comes off the board in round 2. His draft stock will go through the roof after the combine and pro day. We shall see but I wouldn't bet against a round 1 grade after all is said and done.

He's going to test well at the combine for sure but the good news is he's already getting some 1st round love on tape alone.

LOVE Edmunds. There was a thread here around the start of the college season that was something like "Early Who's Your Guy 2018" and Edmunds was my guy.

Like @KingintheNorth said earlier, he's a SPARQ special. I think he'd be a SAM in base due to coverage ability and range, but he could play any LB spot in Dallas' D. My fear is teams running a 3-4 D are really going to raise his stock.

Total LBer. Huge matchup problem. Excellent tackler. Lawrence and Edmunds lining up strong side should scare teams.

Really like Evans too. Violent hitter. Can also play all spots. Would like to get some LBs in here who can get home when blitzed. It's rare to find those guys who are also good in coverage.

If we were fortunate enough to land vea and him one and two I'd be very happy and I believe we could run some 3-4 concepts(we won't under maranelli) with the addition of those two.

I'd be actually shocked if Edmunds make it to the 2nd.

I think if we want him, we have to take him at 19 or trade down a few spots in the 1st to get him.

I agree but his tape says solid second rounder to me so that's what I hope happens otherwise I think we'd get a good player but poor value.

Rahsaan Evans is the name I was expecting but I like Edmunds too. If we want a good lb there will be one available

Yeah this. This border town of Pensacola, FL is wide open full bore with everything Bama related.

Rolando was good
CJ Mosely
Foster last year

Now Evans. Bama does good work developing NFL linebackers. Georgia has too in the recent past.

I know. 2 of the 3 above listed got serious character baggage.

All I'm saying is every game I saw Evans, he was definitely making plays.

What we want to happen is for him to blow up the combine AND make it to us at 19...win win!

Ideally Ridley or Vea at 19 and move up using comps as ammo to get Edmunds with our 2nd pick.

Daygo make it over here?
