Mercury was great, awesome voice, stage presence. Quite a talented cat.

Phillip Lynott, as well, the man had it all. He was a musician, songwriter, poet, tough guy, loads of charisma but most importantly the talent to back it all up.

And last but certainly not least, David Lee Roth. No his voice isn't what it was but most aren't. He had loads of swagger, knew how to work the crowd big time. All the gals wanted him and the guys wanted to be like him.
Plus he has some of the best quotes ever......

"The perfect woman has an IQ of 150, wants to make love until 4 in the morning, then turns into a pizza!"

I don't think GP is looking for front men, with swagger and such. I think he's concentrating on vocals in this thread.

Speaking of which, gotta have Elvis in there.

I don't know his name, but the guy from The Guess Who is very underrated.

Some people blast axle but he really does have a good range and can sing quite well.

I remember when they first got big and everyone started getting appetite for destruction many thought that there was more than one singer because of the different vocal styles on a couple of songs.

With that out of the way, and the mention of other singers already in this thread I will add some...

Ronnie James Dio really shocked he was not in there already. If he was and I missed it I apologize.

Not as well known...Ray Gillen - was in Black Sabbath for a short time but better known for the band Badlands with Jake E Lee...great singing with badlands even though they only had a few cds.

Ray Charles - To this day anytime I hear his version of America the Beautiful I get goosebumps...it is just so powerful for me.

Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye - enough said of those two

Someone people always seem to forget but is so great IMO Otis Redding...one of the greatest songs... I'veBeen loving you too long.

Throw in a few more names.
