That's one of those really warm Russian winter hats. With how cold it's been lately, I think one of those might be nice to own. If anyone knows how to stay warm, it's the Russians. They have to. I looked up Ushankas on Amazon and there are several that looked really warm and were affordable. A few had communist logos on them. I'll avoid those, of course. Hopefully I can find a comfy and warm Ushanka with no logo on it.

Just get the type of knit hat where the bottom folds over as a double layer. That, under a hoodie will keep your head nice and warm, and no wind down the back of your neck.
If it's bitterly cold and windy, add a neoprene mask.

<----- Only wear it once in a great while.
Usually just wear a knit cap and a hoody top over that.

Am I who had to open the thread to find out what a Ushanka is?

I guess it is pretty obvious that I do not own one although one may have come in handy a few days this week ;). They are not something you would see very often on the Gulf Coast where I have lived my entire life.

I do but don’t really like it. My hair is incredibly awesome and it messes it up.
