Now every team we play is going to bring pressure because they see these stats as well.
You're confusing successful pressures with blitzing. Most of the successful pressures against Dak happen when teams are rushing four.

Prescott's passer rating vs. blitz
2016 111.7
2017 109.9

No blitz
2016 101.3
2017 77.4

It's also important to clarify that my post that you quoted did not deal with Dak's numbers on individual pass attempts when pressured. His passer rating while under pressure this year was 68.0, which is almost exactly the league average (67.4). The numbers I posted are for entire games in which he's pressured on an inordinate amount of dropbacks, on every pass attempt whether pressured or not. His career passer rating in those games even from a clean pocket (76.0) is well below league average. IOW, when he's pressured an unusual amount of times in a game it affects even his non-pressured attempts.

Here is every attempt in his career when pressured in an under-40% pressure game:
85 of 158 (53.8%) 1118 yd (7.1 ypa) 8 td 1 int 90.6

Lets just deal in facts so that we look at reality and not Romo cry baby fantasy:

These were the Daks stats in 2016 his rookie year. Not only did he win rookie of the year, but it was the 2nd best QB rookie season in NFL history. In short, its about as good as it ever gets for a QB:

2016: 3667 passing yards, 23 TD's and 4 picks, 68 % completion percentage and 104.9 QBR
282 yards rushing and 6 rushing TD's

Totally and completely off the charts.

2017 first 8 games of the season before Zeke suspension and Tyrone Smith injury:

2017: 1818 passing yards, 16 TD's and 5 picks, 102.85 QBR
195 rushing yards and 4 rushing TD's

If you double those totals for the first 8 games he was on pace for these numbers:
2017: 3636 passing yards, 32 TD's, 8 picks
390 rushing yards and 8 rushing TD's, 102.85 QBR

Those stats are almost identical, and you could argue even better than his rookie year. Passing TD's are on pace for 32 instead of 23. Rushing yards and TD's going up also. So he was on pace for improvement his 2nd year.

We all know what happened the last 8 games. Now can any of the Dak haters think of anything that changed starting with the Atlanta game that might have made a major impact on Dak's ability to do his job properly?

So when the facts are shown above they speak of a much different story then the one being told by the Romo cry babies. Dak is one hell of a QB and is all the way a franchise QB. Sure back up the Oline and Zeke will be back and there should be no reason why he isnt right back to continuing to improve.

[/QUOTE

There were sign those 1st 8 weeks that teams were catching up to Dak and our offence. In those 1st 8 weeks Daks completion percentage was also off more than 5 points to 62.8% from 68 and his YPA was off a full yard at 6.99 down from 7.99. As for his QB rating it was not 102.85 (you don't take each week and divide by 8) his QB rating after 8 games was in the 94-95 range (still good). These were facts you also failed to include[/QUOTE]

I think this actually proves that Dak really isnt the problem but its the offense. You look at the pressure stats and look at the top guys there and its them dink and dunk offenses or spread offenses with the most success. Their offense revolves around them 1,2 step drops and get rid of the ball. So in essence ur playing right to their game, because ur leaving ur back end unprepared for 2 to 3 hot reads. While Dallas runs a pro set and runs longer routes and relys on Wittens ability to get open for that emergency route. When thats taken away you get that 66.1 rating. When Dak has a clean pocket the offense is able to run its course and theres your top rating in the league.
I want you to understand what I posted, before you begin your analysis of it.

Prescott's passer rating in 2017 (NFL avg)
ALL GAMES

clean pocket 95.0 (99.1)
under pressure 68.0 (67.4)

Based on the above, you'd conclude that he was about average when pressured, and a little below average from a clean pocket. The above is what you thought you were looking at. Dig a little deeper, and you realize there's more to it than "pressured" vs. "non-pressured" attempts. He's a different QB in games when he's pressured often, whether pressured on a particular play or not.

GAMES WHEN PRESSURED ON LESS THAN 40% OF DROPBACKS
clean pocket 115.4
under pressure 92.3

GAMES WHEN PRESSURED ON 40% OR MORE OF DROPBACKS

clean pocket 74.0
under pressure 51.6

Follow the link on that first pair of stats, and you'll see that he ranked among the very best in the league in these games (as in Top 2 in both categories), whether pressured or not.

This is the problem with fans and PFF ratings, they take something and run with it to try and hammer their point but there are too many other variables to pin point certain numbers.
PFF's player grades should be avoided like dysentery, but PFF is a great source for raw data (in this case sacks, hits, and hurries) that doesn't assign credit or blame to any individual player. That's the only extent to which I would trust PFF. I'm using traditional NFL passer rating, not PFF player grades.

Didn’t you make similar predictions in 2016 & 2017 on the DC.com boards?
My first post concerning Dak came after the Giants game,i basically asked are we sure he's the "one" at QB for us back on Sept 12 2017 on the Cowboys.com. I received insulting remarks even had my fan status questioned as a Boys fan. Guess after last season Dak's debacle i wasn't off the mark about Dak as he was exposed and i fear there's more inept play to come in 2018....Noodles anyone?

We didn't win the game.
Point is, we asked him to win that playoff game and he would have, I think, if Garrett doesn’t call for the ridiculous spike and waste a precious down when we still had all kinds of time(1:50 seconds only 41 yards from goal line). He was not a Bus Driver!!!!

He's great against pressure, unless there's an unusually high number of pressures in the game. He needs to not freak out when there aren't 3 All-Pro caliber OL on the field, and the team could certainly help him by getting some decent OL depth.

What's Romo got to do with anything?

Has Dak thrown a TD in the last two minutes of a game yet? Not just this year, and not counting any garbage time. I don't think he has. Is there a QBR for that stat?

Nate Newton said a few times that you just don't let a young QB get shellacked from his blind side all day in a game. It will affect his play going forward. It does look like that's how the season played out. However you want to complain about the oline after that point, Dak was just missing guys too.
Just missing guys too because he is thinking about getting hammered from his blind side. I don’t think this will be an issue going forward, unless Garrett allows this to happen again. Actually, Garrett is insane enough to let this happen again. He does stupid things over and over again all the time. See the last 2 GB games. In both games there were critical mistakes Garrett made to give Rogers more time to score. Also, when Bell took over for Green in the Atlanta game and beyond, Garrett did not help Bell enough either.

Because some fans can’t handle the criticism. They want to label those critics discrediting their opinions.

I find it funny we have basically the same WR's as last year but from last season to this season they are suddenly now terrible. Romo put up MVP caliber numbers with them, Dak put up an amazing rookie season with them, and now these seasoned veterans are all garbage? Maybe the regression came from the guy just entering his rookie season. Maybe the coaches were exposed (again). I think once we change the guys calling the games the players will all be fine. Hell, just look at the Rams for proof.

You like Pepsi!! Just kidding. I do like Coke better though. I also like Dak better and realize Romo was a very good QB. I think, am hoping, Dak will become a better big game QB than Romo.

Dak will have ups and downs in his career just like Romo did and any player before and after. The only reality here is fans are fickle and short sided.

Fragile psyche of a young QB. In fact, after the game at the Giants in 2016, that was the reason for not benching Dak in favor of a healthy Romo.

QB’s in the NFL are indentified and measured on the most part with the success of their team.

It’s why Romo was so criticized because the team never had much success in the playoffs despite him putting up top 5 in the league passing numbers consistently.

Dak last year despite some of his passing weaknesses had an 11 game winning streak setting Rookie records which energized a franchise desperately wanting to win. So much they put their veteran QB out to pasture mostly because they thought Dak had the “ It factor “ and could lead them further in the playoffs.

Dak will ultimately be measured by the same results as Romo.

Guess you didnt watch the Pittsburgh game last yr? Elliot won the game with the run, but Dak made that drive with passes to Witten and Beasley on 3rd down. Thats the type of game Romo would've lost with a INT

And the thread turns even more idiotic.

I love how some fans can't defend Dak without trying to somehow put down Romo based on their own moronic fantasies.

Dak will be benched by week 10 come next season bet on it!
Stats that have dink and dunk passes are nice but they don't win games or throw accurate passes.Dak is not i repeat is not qualified to be a Franchise QB on any NFL team. Save this post as it will be proven correct come next season!

P.S. May i eat crow on the above as a Boys fan above and beyond any player but i highly doubt Dak will prove me wrong....

I think it's a virtual impossibility that Dak will be benched next year. If he is then we're in serious trouble for the foreseeable future and we're about to re-enter the QB wasteland that we were in between Aikman and Romo.

Yeah, it was a debacle by Linehan and Garrett. They were exposed big time again this year. A couple of injuries, unlike the good teams( NE, Minnesota, and Ugles), and this Offense falls apart. The same thing happened in 2015. Linehan and Garrett are incapable of consistently game planning situations which put their backup players in position to succeed. Look how they handled our backup O tackles this year. They threw them out their, with no help, like they were a reincarnation of Tyrone Smith. What happened? They consistently got beat like a drum and Linehan and Garrett refused to give them help(chip) consistently. Coaching matters. Dak’s struggles last year were more due to inept coaching than his play. Go back and watch the Atlanta game and tell me if you still think Dak is the problem. Garrett and Linehan are the problem!!
