This eagles playing in the super bowl just makes Jerry believe even more that Garrett and the team are almost there.

Garrett is here to stay

Maybe I'm not understanding the context of that tweet thread. Seems to me Broaddus is being sarcastic and shrugging off the guy's claims as nonsense. Does anyone have any further info on this?

He just means he's previously called for Garrett to be fired in the past (like after the 2013 season) and feels like he was proven wrong by the 2014 and 2016 seasons, so he doesnt want to go back down that well again.....no, he doesnt have even remotely close to the kind of power to actually lobby for his firing, he's just called for it on the dc.com podcasts and articles etc......

That's what I'm thinking....show me a beat writer or whatever with enough pull to fire an NFL coach AND admitted. He's kidding IMO......

Beat writer?

As Green Bay's college scouting administrator from 1992-97, Broaddus was part of the 1996 Super Bowl champion Packers. He was the first employee hired by general manager Ron Wolf for the college scouting department.

After leaving Green Bay, Broaddus was instrumental in running the 1998 NFL Draft for the Philadelphia Eagles. Four of the team's eight selections that season made the 2005 Pro Bowl. Broaddus also worked with the Jacksonville Jaguars before spending six seasons (1999-2004) as the assistant director of pro personnel with the Dallas Cowboys. Among his myriad of duties, Broaddus did advance scouting, wrote reports for free agency, built boards and notebooks for meetings with owner Jerry Jones and was involved in the Cowboys'War Room on draft day as a source of other team's needs and possible trades.

He suggested it to Jerry. Broddaus has a Super Bowl ring as a scout.

I'm sure he did and I generally like Broaddus. But I read that tweet assuming he meant something else and misspelled "fire".
