Everyone had A'Shawn Robinson and Jarran Reed rated as 1st round picks in 2016, most had them rated in thetop 20. Both were sitting there for the taking at #34. Dallas took a kid with drop foot. Hate to burst peoples bubble but if you think they're gonna draft Vea or Payne with a 1st your deluding yourself. They probably wouldn't consider them till the 3rd and would probably still pass till the 4th.

Draft guru's, which player has the better upside and best fits our scheme?

I seen where some like both but are pushing Hurst as well.

Vea has the size an I think this is what we need.
Hurst is more of an Aaron Donald type, and versatile.

I hate that versatility crap. We have too many of theses players where the move aroundd and can't just be good at one position. Another reason I hate this defenses and coaching methods.
We need a big run stuffer that can also get to the QB.

Anyway, who is your preference, or does it matter with these two players.
This is for if we take a DT at 19.
Of course if Roquan Smith is there, do we take him. But this is just if both Vea and hurst are there when we pick, and Smith, Ridley or whoever anyone wants is off the board.

Smith won't be there at 19, there I made it easier for you.

Were not the brightest, we blundered that second round pick I don't care how great Jaylon turns out, there were 15 game changing picks in round 2 and we blundered it.

Chris Jones was also available. They were locked into Ogbah or Jaylon. Cleveland snatched him up. I don't get it, Reed and Robinson were brought in seemed to have good interviews and we pass on them. Both are killing it in Seattle and Detroit. We could have used them both and they have been 3 down players. I just can't cope with this anymore.

Da’Ron Payne. If we are going to take a DT at 19 he would be my choice, I think he brings the best of both worlds in pass rush and run stuffing.

But I still think people are trying to over correct the problem of not having a DT the past few years. I think we can get a guy to play 60% of the snaps and eat up blockers later in the draft or even at a reasonable price in free agency. If a difference maker is there at 19, of course, but I feel like a lot of people are zeroing in on DT a little too much.

If you look at the teams with great defenses almost all of them have hogs on the line. This quick twitch **** is way over rated inside at DT.

I think Jerry holds on to what worked in the past. He's stuck on the Jimmy's philosophy of speed kills. Take the dt off the field, play end at tackle, lb at end and safety at lb. Been sticking to it since the 90s. Even in the 34 he resisted picking a legitimate nose. He doesn't show the ability to look at the rest of the league and see the obvious... that other things are working.
