This mock fell a little different than they usually do. What would you think, if this was Dallas draft this year?

Jump for joy. Nelson won't fall though. Unfamiliar with Nnadi and Coutee. Edmunds and Settle you're getting a round later then they will end up going.

No way this happens. Edmunds, Nelson, and Hughes are all being talked about in the 1st. Nelson will definitly be top 10 barring something crazy happening I like the positions you took but the players are a stretch.

Where do these things (player available at pick “x”) come from?
I mean, why not grab Vita Vea in the 6th Round?
You choose a big board, the one I would use is Matt Miller, then you choose team needs which are either fanspeak or fan voted. The simulator makes the other team's picks based off that, so Vea would probably go round 1.

In answer to you, about where do they come from. On fanspeak, they upload a board with players rated 1 to 400+. There are numerous companies/people who put out boards draftek, bleacher, nfl mock, etc. Then there are groups, specifically like fanspeak, draft utopia, nfl speak, etc that think they know what the needs are for each team. Then you get to pick a team to be GM for, and you get to pick. The computer picks for everyone else.

When you think you know the answer, next week, that player will be rated different for someone else. So since there are 30 different teams boards, and these are a bunch of "everyone" else who think they know something's board....you basically have a wash.

Vita Vea is ranked 23 on the board I used that time. He was gone before the Cowboys picked at 19. Next time he might have been available, but the computer this time put this % that a team above would choose him, etc.

It makes for fun, and sometimes it is much closer to real than most realize. Of course, no two boards in the NFL look alike, and no draft goes down as expected..........so I enjoy playing the game on fanspeak,

In the end it is meaningless because even if you knew who was available perfectly.........Jerry Jones gets to make the pick.

Yeah, whatever big board you were using for that mock is not valid, you picked 3 players who may be gone by the time the Cowboys pick in the 1st. You also seem to have picked 2 nose tackles.

Why do people waste their time with the ludicrous fan mocks?
A guard that's going top 10 and a linebacker that most likely goes before 19.

well, in answer because I like blowing off time talking Cowboys.
OFTEN players that are guaranteed top 10 (ie Johnny Manziel) fall, because there are risers and if someone rises - then someone falls. With 30 different team boards and about that many draft boards, and add to it the professional scouts who do this for a living and still don't get it right.......we have a lot of variants. So I play and see what happens.

You may be very correct that Nelson goes top 10 -- but there have been many many years that Guards don't get drafted till at least 19.
You may be very correct that Edmunds goes before 19, or he may be the odd LB out that doesn't get drafted till the 2nd round.

I know I have no real idea, so I throw some of this stuff out, and see who talks about it.

I would take PSU's Barkley in 5 and UGA's Chubb in 6. Other than that it looks good.
