I may actually miss a super bowl for the first time in decades. Real yawner.Sigh another Patriots Super Bowl.. What should be Jacksonville's plan of action here? How come Bortles hasn't ran it yet on a run pass option with a fake to Fornette, believe he's more athletic then Dak, and lbs would be like missiles to Fornette. Wish I had some confidence in Bortles, but I don't.
They had Brady in check then switched to a soft zone, things that make you go hmmmm....
I'm still trying to figure out why.Happens every time conveniently.. throws a bunch of underneath passes that happen to have all sorts of room for RAC too because if these soft zones..

It seriously looked like JAX was throwing the game. There's just no explanation that makes sense. You don't beat Brady w/ coverage, period. You beat him by beating him up back there. There's no other way. And yet, JAX tried a method that has repeatedly failed in 4th qtrs.
C'moooooooon.
I am rooting against the Pats, and that's no matter who they play. One of the many reasons why I think the NFL is rigged. In what world do teams STOP doing what's working? If they were playing ANY other team, do you think they change from what was WORKING? And they stopped running with one of the players that was GASHING the Pats every time. He wasn't stopped. They just sat him. It was like, "Okay, we've had our fun, now we have to let the Pats win or we broke league rules." One of the many grievances for why I'm begrudgingly am going to have to break a cardinal Cowboy rule in 2 weeks. I just can't root for the Pats. I can't do it.
I am rooting against the Pats, and that's no matter who they play.
However, for the first time in 30 years, I'm sitting this one out. Wish more would also. Why? The blatant missed holding calls, and two key PI calls against JAX that gave NE two TD's.
And 1 penalty against NE? 1? Really? C'moooonnnnnn
It's not just if they win, if the refs give it to them again.Well, the way I see it is this is a situation of the enemy of my enemy is my friend. I can't stand the Eagles, but I can't stomach the thought of the Pats being handed another trophy. I just can't. I know it's sort of treason for a Cowboys fan, but it's more of a gasp for the NFL to not be fixed. I'd rather most of my family and friends (most of them are Eagles fans) celebrate than see the NFL further destroy itself. Until the Cowboys get into a Super Bowl or unless the Pats miss one, this may be the last Super Bowl I watch if the Pats win.
It's not just if they win, if the refs give it to them again.
Make no mistake, if my team just straight up loses, I won't like it but I'll deal w/ it. However, when they're handed the game, I'm out.
Ware and Von Miller and company proved that was how you beat Brady. Its how the Giants beat Brady in those two SBs; pressure constantly. Brady is not a god; you get pressure in his face and he becomes just another QB under pressure. It seriously looked like JAX was throwing the game. There's just no explanation that makes sense. You don't beat Brady w/ coverage, period. You beat him by beating him up back there. There's no other way. And yet, JAX tried a method that has repeatedly failed in 4th qtrs.

Are they? Explain the huge discrepancy in penalties. Explain why a D that had a total of 5 PI penalties called against them suddenly has 2 at key moments in 1 game. Explain why NE was not being called for both holding, and a PI that was so blatant it was a tackle. Explain why, in a game as big as this one, the refs took a hand and swayed the game. The conspiracy theories are dumb, but the truth is that the level of NFL coaching now is mostly trash. You had a half dozen future Hall of Famers actively coaching in the 80s and 90s at various points. From 2001+ it's just Belichick and people chumped by Belichick. Or holdovers from previous eras like Coughlin and Parcells.
At least Atlanta had the excuse that their defense went into soft zones because they were gassed after playing so many more snaps on defense than the Patriots. The Jags won time of possession and still did it anyway. They also kept running the only play that the Pats D consistently stopped: running straight into the fat rolls of their DTs on 1st down.
Probably very stupid comparison but at the end of the game the jaguars' D looked like Cowboys D, 4 men front and everyone else at coverage.
