So. Damn. Good.

All four limbs, keeping different rhythms, in 360 degrees, on however-many percussive instruments. That's weapons-grade autism right there.

Neil's also so great because he evolved from early Keith-Moon style punchy aggressive drumming to the precision prog-rock stuff on the more popular Moving Pictures/YYZ stuff through the the electronic stuff on their more recent (unfortunately mostly terrible) albums. He's such a beast.

The moby dick drum solo is the best i ever heard. These two guys are like 1 and 1a.

Tre Cool of Greenday is pretty dammed good.

I gotta give a shout to Dave Grohl.

Lucas Fox original drummer of Motörhead who invented the heavy metal double bass sound.

Lars Ulrich used to be one of my favorites until the napster incident

Bonzo...

Danny Carey of Tool is a monster.

Yeah. Bonham has that punch and that behind the beat thing that's just cool. Stylistically, he's got the edge because prog-rock is inherently so dorky. But, man, Peart is so technically good. He's insane.

A little throwback.

Peart's still better, though.

I disagree. Bonzo incorporates so many change ups in rhythm, style, and tempo that his solo is a song in itself. Peart is great, and to be honest, I feel like he's a great part of a highly overrated band, but Bonham was so much fun, with his off beat arrangements.

I don't know what it is that I don't get with Bonham. I love Zep and think, if anything, they're somehow underrated as a band (which is crazy to think about), but I've got a dozen drummers I think I like better than Bonham floating around.

My all time favorite is Neil Peart. I've seen Rush a couple times, but I always wanted a tennis ump type chair set up right behind Neil just so I could watch him.....lol

One of the funnier YouTube comments I read about Peart was - Surely, all those drums and cymbals are just for show, he doesn't NEED them all.......... Oh $#@% He does!
