The afc east hasn't been great, no. But that is not on the Patriots. Take it up with the Jets, Dolphins and Bills. But periodically AFC East teams have risen to the occasion, twice unseating the Pats as division champions, and knocking them out of the playoffs. So its hardly as dire as you make it sound. Its not like they have been playing in the same division as the Browns.
But this isn't just about the AFCE. There are also ten other games in the season.... You said that their path to the Super Bowl has been easy street. Twice now you have ignored the post detailing their road thru the playoffs. You don't know what you are talking about... or are being willfully ignorant.
