Dak will be fine. He's 13-3 in his first season and 21-10 over his first two.... He will be just fine.

See my previous post regarding Dez the cancerous skills declining wannabe #1 WR with hardening stone hands.

You didn't answer my question about the other receivers. The COWBOYS are 21-10 over the last two years but remember that Tebow was a winner but Elway, for some reason, went and got Manning.

By releasing Romo we put all our eggs in Dak’s basket. It’s important that we show confidence in him and allow him to bounce back next season. Despite his struggles he had some solid games this season. Drafting a QB in the first round says you’re giving up on him. No one drafts a QB in the first round just to try and cover themselves, they’re taking that QB to eventually be their starter.
In 1989 we drafted 2 QB’s in 1st round to hedge our bet. And that was after we used the 1st overall pick on Troy. And we ended up recieving 3 picks for Walsh including a 1st rd we used for Russell Maryland.

Did that diminish the confidence we had in Troy or provide more competition and security for the most vital position in rebuilding a team?

I’m not saying we must use a 1st rd pick.

Look what Commanders did when they drafted Griffin also using a mid round pick on Cousins. Patriots used a 2nd rd pick on Jimmy G 4 years ago. There are more examples .

If we are completely dug in on Dak it could be a critical error after what we witnessed this year. We weren’t feeling this last year .That said , I agree we provide him every opportunity. In the end would it be so awful if he became a great backup or provided a solid trade? Or is this all about being Dak friendly?

And that’s a great question . What do you think Dak brings right now . A 1st round pick ??

IDK but I bet it’s lower than what it was after 2016. Just saying...and why we should all have concerns .

You already know the answer to your own question... But I will entertain you by regurgitating something I have already said numerous times in past weeks.

  • Our offense is juvenile
  • Our OC is predictable and lacks the basic ability to adjust at halftime
  • Our head coach inspires no one
  • Our offense is predictable
  • Our offense is predictable

Shall I continue?

I agree to the above statements, now tell me how this doesn't effect Dez?

How doe you feel about Dez?

He hasn’t produced the last two years because the guy throwing him the ball is awful deep and our offense has Dez running deep all day.

Three years ago he had he high ankle sprain and we intentionally went dink and dunk.

I’d more then venture to guess of Dallas aired it out with Weeden, before his injury, he still would have been more successful than with Dak this year, that’s his bad he was.

That being says, I honestly don’t give a peep about the Jones talking abut money and performance when they’ve been protecting that bum Garrett for years despite absolutely sucking.

No matter how you spin it, a QB has more impact overall on the success of an offense than any WR, but homers think Dez was the reason Dak and the offense sucked, while all the WRs sucked as well.

Wade himself never agreed to spending a first on a WR and Jerry leveraged a draft to get Garrett Roy Williams, then drafted Dez in the first round to get Garrett another WR to supposedly help him. And our brain trust then thought Dak was better for tyr franchise than Romo, when they finally had decent pieces for Romo and an elite RB that was a threat to take it house any given play.

The idiocy of this brain trust becomes more and more evident everyday and Stephen seems to be more of a curse than Jerry.

Go back and look at Romo before Garrett. Plenty of passes in the middle.

Doubtful Romo had much say in the offense, being a starter for 10 games or whatever it was in 2006. As Tony grew into the position, he was able to really decide what routes he liked vs those he didn't. I find it hard to believe that the owner came out said "romo friendly" offense and Tony was on the table pounding for exotic routes and over the middle throws and the coaches were like "Nah, we good bro". Everyone that hates JG, claims that Tony ran the offense, was calling the plays, was designing the plays but then they want to blame JG for the lack of slants and crossers. That makes a lot of sense.

i believe elite talent is only way to overcome Garrett and Jerry.

Remember Romo wasn't elite enough. Do you think Dak is?

We need to try moving on from Garrett 1st.

Look at Bortles, great coaching made him pretty good in the playoffs

  • Dez is a crybaby.
  • Dez is a veteran.
  • Dez should be leading by example.
  • Dez likes whine with his cheese.
  • Dez drops balls.
  • Dez led the league in dropped balls in 2017.
  • Dez loves Dez.
  • Dez got lazy after the big contract.

It looks like Stephen has pretty much already made his decision on Dez which is a good sign.....when stated before he wouldn't take a pay cut, he might have thought it was negotiable......wrong

Funny thing about all of this.... I used to be one of the biggest Dez fans on this board. Research it. It's in the records... But, over the past few years, I have seen a side of him that I no longer want to see. Bye Felicia.
I couldn't agree more.

WR with Dak and Garrett calling plays is just not worth 16 million dollars.

I don't care if we had Julio Jones or Antonio Brown. We would not get our moneys worth with Garrett's pass scheme and Dak not comfortable throwing to Receivers out wide.

How many championships have they won? Are there any big time WR's playing in the big game this year? Why not? Because it's horse crap that you need to spend money on these egoomaniac WR's that never win superbowls.

Started his career by scapegoating TO, going out scapegoating Dez. I can't be a fan of this crap anymore. Once Dez is gone I'm out too. LOL at an emotional player being a distraction. This cookie-cutter corporate franchise neuters its players like no other. Look at the Eagles and how their players wear their emotions on their sleeves, why isn't that a "distraction" for them. Seriously **** YOU Stephen.

Yo ZO, you know you and me are for the most part always on the same page. But here's where I am on Dez and WR's in general. Here's a list of last 9 years starting Superbowls winners WR's.

Edelman, Hogan, Sanders, Thomas, Lafell, Baldwin, Tate, Bouldin, Torrey Smith, Manningham, Nicks, Driver,Jennings,Colston,Henderson,Holmes, Ward.

For the life of me I don't know why there is a such a huge fuss over supposed #1 type WR's . It's why 1/2 the league, including the DC's never win a title. It's all about ticket sales, jersey sales, and marketing. Teams who win don't play that game, and when they do, they stop winning.

Dude, a lot of QBs that were really, really, good never produced big results.

You have Hall of Fame type QBs like Archie Manning, Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, ect, that never won a SB ring. Most of the time the reason was they never had a great defense, but it didn't mean they were not really, really good QBs.

If a QBs greatness was determined by the number of rings they have, why does once in a generation QBs like Aaron Rogers and Brett Favre and Drew Brees all have just a single championship ring? You could even throw Peyton Manning in there with his time with the Colts, just a single ring for what many consider to be the single best QB mind that ever existed.

Meanwhile you got guys like Trent Dilfer, Joe Flacco, and possibly even Nick Foles with Championship rings because they have a defense that just ask the QB not to lose the game with picks.
Sorry, I don't want those first guys, I want super Bowl winners. You can have the others.

I don't think they say Tony designed the plays. Fact is the middle of the field thing goes way back before Romo had much input. It's a Garrett staple. Garretts offense is horrible, Tony just knew how to use it better than anyone.
