Lost to Denmark. Very poor performance. :(

They were exposed. Even if they were gift wrapped an early lead they still had no chance. It was an awful Irish display over the full 180 minutes. As a Dane, I never feared that team and was still fully confident after 0-0 at home. Even if the Danish side is mediocre, at their best.

Ireland is really under achieving at the moment. Manager is far too conservative with selection and tactics. With the away goals rule you need to go for it in the away leg - as Denmark did in Dublin. Ireland played for 0-0 in Copenhagen and hoped for 1-0 in Dublin. Most of the starting lineup are Premiership starters. We should be able to play better.

Best of luck to the Danes in Russia.

More to the point though are Denmark going to follow the Adidas kits and go retro? An '86 inspired top would be excellent

Haha, yeah that was a nice jersey. I like many of the designs from that era. But I don't know what they have in store for Russia 2018. Have to say I'm not a big fan of the Hummel brand nowadays, so hopefully nothing too cringeworthy :D

Italy is out. Let that sink in. They haven't missed a World Cup since 1958 I believe. Holland and its Total Futbol style hasn't made the last two World Cups. Still can't believe the US squandered this opportunity.
Yep. Very frustrated the Azzurri failed to qualify.

Sad that that level of expectation now counts as optimistic, I approach major tournaments with a sense of resigned fatalism, I guess 2 semi-final appearances in half a century will do that.

It's what we are a top 8 side no better, but our last best world cup showing was back in 2006, when we got knocked out by Portugal, even when looking at the Euros we are still a 1/4 finalist team.

If we top group G, we play the runners up in group H, either Coloumbia or Senegal, if we are runners up in group G, we play top of group H, which will be Poland. So either, or is fine.
Let's hope We can beat Tunisia and Panama, I wouldn't wanna go into the Belgium game needing a result.
