Ballin' again

39 min
3-11 FG (1-8 3PT)
1-3 FT

More to ballin than missing 3pters. He also put up 5 rbs, 11 asts, 3 stls, 1 blk. That part of the game you ignore as always.

As for shooting, JKidd his rookie year.... .385 FG%, .272 3p%.

I'm not ignoring, you're just glibly latching onto those numbers which are rather ho-hum totals when you play 39-41 minutes.

What's being highlighted is Ball is epically bad at shooting the basketball in every facet:

.361 FG %
.318 3PT%
.459 FT

That free throw % is only remotely acceptable for 7'+ centers with awkward mechanics/trajectories. Maybe you should have restrained yourself from posting, calling-out "those that claim Ball can't shoot..." when he had a momentary blip but has since regressed back to the norm.

And don't even try to associate Ball to Kidd.

Kidd was an absolute floor general even as a rookie. He played in an era where your PG still facilitated the offense. Ball is not that nor does those things.

At this point he's a poorer shooting Ricky Rubio when you remove all the hype.

The Magic won, the Kings won and the Knicks lost to the Mavs between yesterday and today.

Jeez...all I ask...all I ask is that the knicks don't win any more games this year. And what do they do? They win. It's like just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!

There is a growing belief that Kyrie could get season ending surgery on his knee. As much as I would have the season going down the toilet like that, Id sacrifice that to get it right

Nah. That's not even acceptable for centers.

To put in perspective, right now, he would have the 71st worst single season free throw percentage in the history if the NBA.

I was told free throw shooting was "lame."

BTW, Lonzo was Ballin' out again last night:
44 min
2-15 FG
1-12 3PT

The sheer number of 3PT shots tells you this guy is just camping outside afraid to dribble drive and get to the hoop (and the the line).

Current slash line:
.351 FG%/.305 3PT/.462 FT

Yup... I cant watch tanking teams so I've seen very few games:(
NBA must address tanking.
There are about 10 truly awful teams right now. A couple throwing out developmental line ups.

I have no idea how these teams think they'll ever recover to build a legit NBA roster.

You get 1 LBJ every 25 years.

Dallas was always a free agency team while also trading away draft picks. The Dallas market along with Dirk being “old” kinda forced Mark and Rick to accept that free agency would not place them into the top 6 in the west and ended up drafting Dennis Smith Jr who will be a great player for them. They need a few more good drafts and a few more free agents to come in after Dirk leaves.

I've been a Mavs fan literally since they were created.
So I know what sucking for a decade (yikes 90s) looks like and why it takes a culture of winning to turn it around.
Cuban did push too much into vets especially end of career vets but NBA willing is still about free agency.
You've gotta compete and win quality free agents.
6-8 seeds surely recruit better than teams that win 20 games.

Ultimately i'm not mad at the Mavs for tanking, just wonder how many years it takes to get out of tank-mode.
Draftees aren't tied to the team forever.

If the Mavs can get a core together that should entice a few good FA signings to come in and compete for a run in the post season I just know it will be post dirk when it happens unfortunately. I went to a Dallas game a few years ago against the knicks paid like 35 dollars at the gate and got a seat like 7 or so rows behind the goal had a blast!

Another big win by the Celtics against a WC playoff team minus Kyrie. Brown, Smart and Theis. Mook was out of his mind.

If Brad Stevens doesnt get COY, they should disband thr award

The Dubs have been decimated by injuries. All appear to be coming back for the playoffs at some point but who knows at what level and rust factor. The Rockets seem poised to make a run.

I think if you nail this year's pick and DJS makes a year 2 leap, you can make a run for a lower seed next year

We are right there with you. Kyrie is having knee surgery, but is expected back by the playoffs. Smart tore ligamant in his thumb. I dont know what his status is

Dubs are weak as crap going into the playoffs. They will struggle to get out of the first round... I think they will but it's going to take more effort than they should have to exert to vanquish a 7 seed. Dubs in 7. Go Spurs Go!
