If we dont sign Fleming/Waddle, what is the plan for OL?

Flemming and Waddle are still available, and one could be signed any time. I don't understand the rush to get worried or upset about something that we don't yet even know about.

I hear ya. But our track record of signing free agents who have left the building is very poor.

I get it, and it frustrates me too, but it still doesn't make sense to complain in advance of something we don't know about. There will be plenty of time to complain after we know for sure.

In any case, the team at least seems serious about talking with O-Line candidates. There are reports of talks with 3 of them.

I was on board with signing a young RT like Fleming/Waddle and moving Collins to LG if (big IF) that meant that it got our best 5 OL on the field. But seeing no movement on the Fleming/Waddle front, and Cooper signing with SF, I again am beyond frustrated with our approach to free agency. If the "plan" is to low ball them, and once they sign elsewhere, to draft Kolton Miller or Will Hernandez and think they are plug-and-play ready, that is foolish. I wont even consider the possibility that Chaz Green is the fallback option. Seriously, I thought last year's free agency debacle was bad (as it was happening in Feb and March). This one may turn out to be worse.

For Ol, they could draft #1 kolten miller ot #2 braden smith G or some combination of hernandez #1 and some OT #2
For LB, they could sign another vet johnson and draft #3 josey jewell and perhaps micah kiser

I dont think they move Awuzie. I think he and Lewis are the starters with Brown in the slot.

TE why do we keep seeing Rico ahead of Swaim, or Jarwin.. the guy has shown nothing... except against guys who were going to be cut, or 3rd stringers.. lmao.. Rico... yep cut Witten and get tumor head in there..

With every passing day, it appears this FO is sitting at the blackjack table having made the decision to “pass” holding a hand of 14 hoping everyone else “busts”.

I think the long term plan is to plug a cheapo veteran free agent at LG, at least until we hit on some cheapo draft pick. We've actually done pretty well with cheap guards over the years.

LG is the final resting place for big olinemen. They've still got strength, they've got skill, but the speed and agility isn't what it was.

Can't pay big at every spot on the oline, whether in money of picks. LG is the natural position to churn.

The strategy is not to pay for top level starters in free agency.

I was surprised that they supposedly made a real offer to Watkins. Out of character. They must be serious about moving on from Dez.

Probably to start 3 all pros and another first round talent on the line.

LB - Lee, Smith, Wilson - depth Thomas, March-Lillard, Johnson - probably add one/two in the draft especially someone to replace Lee
S - Probably move Awuzie to S, then Awuzie, Frazier, Woods, Heath - maybe if one falls right in draft to take Heath spot
CB - Lewis, Brown, Jones, White, Thomas - could and will add one in draft
TE - Witten, Gathers, Jarwin, Swaim, Hanna - could add one in draft and remove Swaim and Hanna
WR - Bryant, Williams, Beasley, Switzer, Brown, Thompson - probably add one/two in draft, could trade Beasley during draft, also have Cannon and Lenoir who they like
OL - waiting game, if sign Fleming OT and Marcus Martin OG, then probably OL in 2nd round of draft, if not could be Miller at 19 to be RT and Collins to LG

Might not like it but it is what it is

And we are trying to make the playoffs?

Looking at that roster, I don't see playoffs:(
