Incredible how a guy that plays a few games over a 3 year period and has done nothing but get in trouble gets so much positive attention. Meanwhile back at the farm talentless Heath works his way up to starter by staying clean, working hard and leading the cowboys in TOs and folks can't wait to get rid of him.

Some like to see a return on a 2nd round investment. Gregory minus the issues could've been a beast and fans are still hoping for that. Might be wishful thinking, but it's not out of the question yet!

I would be extremely happy to see him carve out a career for himself. Even if its not in Dallas after this year. Wishing him all the luck

I hope the kid can be successful in his personal life AND on the field, especially if he does it for us. Am I counting on it? No way in hell, and neither should the team. Best to take a hope for the best/ plan for the worst attitude. We need to go on with our business and the draft as if he were never part of our plans. That way we are protected but if the kid can somehow pull through its all gravy .

I can't help but wonder if Goodell might be tempted to disallow Gregory's return, if for no other reason than to get under Jerry's skin! :omg:

I do realize how that could be defined as a dastardly deed but Goodell hasn't exactly been a saint with his spiteful handling of the C-Boys.
Well with Jerry paying the 2 million Goodell might back off just a tad. Perhaps Jerry made an under the table agreement with Goodell. Plus Jerry has taken a back seat recently as well

this is a good example of why Jerry is Jerry....he does care, he is investing time and energy in this guy despite the issues...giving him one more chance and showing him faith....Jerry is definitly not perfect but he does have a big heart for his players..

JJ isn’t so sure he will get reinstated because of the mental and medical clearing process? Wonder what they know. They said that they were going on like he wasn’t going to be part of the team.

You mean the same staff that values Tyrone Crawford? In that case I agree they do value him more.

Yep, that's them, alright! They don't always seem to agree with our many "astute experts," do they? :muttley:

Sounds like they're not optimistic that Goodell will give him the green light. In view of Goodell's past hardball approach, it's understandable. I'm inclined to be on the fence between optimism and pessimism myself, to be candid. I imagine much depends upon how forgiving the Commish is capable of being. Scary thought, huh?

It's also the reason why Garrett has been our illustrious head coach for so many years. Exact same big heart coddling caring approach to everything. It's an admirable approach but the results are less than stellar to date.

I was under the impression he was on a 1 year suspension and reinstatement was a formality and paper work.

This is such horse S***.
So Jerry is not confident Gregory will play, because of the process of him getting reinstated is a hard road.

But people Like Vick and Hardy can still play in the NFL after what they did.

Goodell is such a joke.
Why would Goodell reinstate Gregory without any pain or strife? There's a clear discernable pattern here. He made us suffer with the Zeke BS decision last year (should have been 2 games tops) and I would be surprised if he doesn't make us suffer again with Gregory. Goodell hates Jerry.
