Grateful for what? Being publicly trashed by the organization twice and getting cut when FA is at a stall? You homers can ignore it if you want, but this was a bad look for the Cowboys and they already have a problem getting people to play here.
That's a valid point,bro!

I'm going to address things said about Dez in this and other threads.

First, if Dez called out the coaching staff, including JG, there was no way he could stay. Anyone who knows about team sports knows that kind of dissention can't be tolerated. Add to that calling out 2 team members, the most important members on the offense, is totally unacceptable and most notably in a team meeting. This is the cancer I have spoken of in past threads and it is the 1st time I've had the evidence of Dez's attitudes. This is a team chemistry destroyer and as much as many on here think you win with overwhelming talent the most important factor in football is chemistry. Coaching is second most important. Thirdly you have to have talent to carry out assignments. Once Dez called out the head coaches and offensive captains, very stupidly I might add, his fate was sealed as he mutinied against the team concept that is ultimately the most important factor in winning team football .

Secondly, although the sports press is now praising Dez and wanting him on their favorite team(s), Dez's brought so much of this on himself. As has been pointed out on these pages so many articles have come out, before Dez was releases, being so very critical of him. Why didn't Dez have the intelligence to know how to conduct himself. Even if I have issues at work I know to use the chain of command . . . there is a way to communicate issues without poisoning the team.

And why hasn't Dez improved over 8 years???? Lazy routes, half-azzed efforts in some games, unable to separate against aggressive DB's, poor concentration leading to dropped balls, and all his sideline antics also contributed to his dismissal .

I am convinced Dez loves to play football and has succeeded due to being a superior athlete and a desire for individual glory. His statements post release are evidence to his poisonous attitude. He's unable to control his emotions. He sealed his own fate. I never called for his release on these pages but I have criticized him. I would have been ok with him being on the team but once I found out he was OPENLY critical of the QB never ... he had to go. A team member can't openly mutiny against the one that captains the team on the field.

I think the team did a lot to control his immature behavior but ultimately, as a man and a team member he hurt his career. I think he'll be that ex-player that could be living under a bridge someday. Good luck to Dez though.

New Orleans or Seattle are the 2 ideal landing spots for him. I doubt any team outside the NFC will want him, except maybe Miami. I see a fit and need there.

For the opportunity to play for the star and make life changing money. No one is a homer, Dez needed to learn a harsh life lesson. It took 30 years for someone to hold him accountable. Accountability for ones actions, very simple

His offers will get hot after June 1st.

Agree someone will pick him up, if for nothing else than to cause coverage concerns to free up the receivers they really want to go to. His drops last year will hurt him. Sure there were some uncatchable, but then there were some that hit him in the hands but he was more interested in
taking off than securing the catch/down than the reception.

Cleveland !!!!!!! They will rebuild like an expansion team.
How they went 0-16 last year confuses me, they really are a better team than that. I could see them winning 8 games this year and winning the division within 3. Then again it’s the browns so who knows but with all that talent and picks accumulating come on.

Agree. Panthers or Packers, maybe New England but his after released comments probably won't impress Belicheck...
You can cross off the Pats. Dez is shooting off his mouth and narrowing down teams as we speak. He's showing his lack of common sense.

revenge is motivation, if he strikes revenge on us means he had a great game which more than likely means he beats us which then leads to more victories closer to the SB. People always take things out of context.

Randy Moss spent his whole career destroying the Cowboys because we passed on him, Moss didn't win a SB but at least got their and he also got to a NFC championship game to and he had revenge on his mind day 1 once the Cowboys passed on him.

#1 don't compare Randy to Dez. Dez was never at his level
#2 Randy destroyed the Cowboys because it was a team in decline, we were getting destroyed by everyone

It appears he would have take a pay cut to stay and they still cut him. That’s strange to me.
It never was about the money and that was a smoke screen. He called out Garrett and some other coaches and players with a C for captain. Captains are elected and are the team leaders and he's directing that at Lee and Witten, which seems strange because Witten seems to be the one that had his back and tried to help him. But everybody has a tolerance level and Dez's contribution didn't balance the drama.

Some of these players didn't take note of what happened to Owens, arguably the best WR in the league at the time three of his teams all said "enough".

So, Dez is insinuating that his coaches and some players elected by the other players to lead them are to blame. You are a GM and HC, how does that sit with you? If that's me, he's a 11-12M headache waiting to happen. And those East teams? Who has watched film and prepared for him any more than them?

I know the Dezzies are pissed but don't y'all look forward to not using "passion" as an excuse for his behavior. We all have our reasons for liking or disliking players but how he became any Cowboys fan's favorite after walking off the field with time and using the excuse "I just hate to lose" baffles me.

I am not happy that he's gone because I believe that opens the door for a WR in the 1st and that was the bargaining chip they used for Booger. "Daddy, cut ole goofy Dez and you can pick another in the 1st round in Dallas!!!! He'll be all your own cuz we know how you just luuuuuuuuuv your WR's".
